Israeli occupation soldiers participating in the ground battles inside the Gaza Strip have shared their experiences of what they endured at the hands of Palestinian resistance forces. They said that “Palestinian militants emerge from tunnels, launch anti-tank rockets, and then disappear,” according to reports from Israeli media, as cited by Anadolu Agency.
These testimonies were among the first to be shared by the Israeli news site “Wallah” from soldiers who took part in clashes and ground battles within the Gaza Strip, in which 13 Israeli soldiers were killed in a single day, according to official statistics released on November 1, 2023.
The soldiers revealed in their testimonies that Palestinian fighters “come out of openings, fire anti-tank missiles, or shoot and then return to the tunnel, sealing it with an iron cover.” They added, “There is a very large number of underground openings designed to target us and hinder our maneuvers,” referring to the ground incursion.
According to the news site, the Israeli soldiers’ testimonies disclosed that the combat area in the Gaza Strip is filled with thousands of underground openings leading to an extensive tunnel network that enables them to move from one area to another for miles.
In this context, the “Wallah” news site noted that the Israeli army “uses a large number of drones of various sizes to provide as broad and precise an image as possible for the forces in the field. This information is transmitted to the military command centers established by the army in Israel.”
The report further stated, “The image being constructed is also transmitted to the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, enabling an understanding of the battlefield and a rapid response to any event.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli army announced that 13 soldiers had been killed in the fighting taking place within the Gaza Strip since Tuesday.
Since the early hours of Tuesday, direct clashes and confrontations have escalated between the Israeli army and fighters from the Qassam Brigades in several areas in northern Gaza, particularly at the Erez crossing, which separates northern Gaza from Israel.
The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced in multiple statements that they used the Yassin rockets, which are equivalent to the Kornet anti-tank missiles, in their attacks against the Israeli army within Gaza.
