Activists on social media responded to a video showing Israeli occupation soldiers participating in the ground operation against the Gaza Strip washing their clothes with detergent said to be provided by the well-known brand “Ariel.”
Activists claimed that the global company openly supports the Israeli occupation in its war on Gaza, with some describing it as “cleaning the clothes of occupation soldiers from the blood of Palestinians.”
The activists called for boycotting “Ariel” products in protest of its support for the occupation, aligning with the broader boycott campaigns that have targeted globally renowned companies, particularly in the food and beverage industry, for their direct or indirect support of the Israeli occupation.
American and European brands are facing pressure from the boycott campaign across the Middle East, where consumers turn to local alternatives in protest of Western governments supporting Israel’s destructive war on Gaza for over a month, resulting in the deaths of thousands of civilians.
The Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday, November 12, that some well-known American brands, such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, and Domino’s Pizza, have been targeted in boycott campaigns, along with the German company Puma and the French retail chain Carrefour.
This comes as the Israeli occupation army has waged a war on Gaza for 39 days, resulting in 11,240 Palestinian martyrs, including 4,630 children and 3,130 women, in addition to 29,000 injuries, with 70% of them being children and women, according to Palestinian official sources.
