A Nigerian woman, aged 30, delivered her baby at the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Mecca, naming him “Mohammed,” making him the first Hajj-born baby of the year. The infant is currently receiving intensive care due to being premature, according to the Saudi newspaper Sabq.
The Mecca Health Cluster stated that the mother was admitted to the hospital’s emergency department while 31 weeks pregnant, experiencing labor pains. The emergency physicians immediately attended to her and transferred her to the delivery ward, where she gave birth naturally. Both the mother and the baby are in good health.
Furthermore, the Mecca Health Cluster clarified that the Maternity and Children’s Hospital is operating at full capacity to provide the highest level of service to the pilgrims of the Holy Mosque to handle emergency cases and provide distinguished medical services according to international standards. The Nigerian pilgrim expressed her profound gratitude to the medical staff for their exceptional care for her and her child.
On another note, the spokesman for the General Directorate of Passports in the Mecca region, Captain Abdul Rahman Al-Qahtani, stated that the directorate is operating around the clock and throughout the week at full capacity at all sites to accommodate the influx of flights coming to the Kingdom during the Hajj season.
Al-Qahtani emphasized, according to Al-Ekhbariya channel on Monday, that the passports in the Mecca region continue their efforts to receive the guests of the Holy Kaaba arriving to perform the Hajj rituals through Jeddah Islamic Port, Taif International Airport, and King Abdulaziz International Airport.
