The Kingdom has begun preparations to welcome the 2024 Hajj season, stressing the necessity of issuing Hajj permits for those wishing to perform the pilgrimage from within the country. The authorities have apprehended several violators in recent days.
Duration of Penalty for Hajj without Permit 2024 The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the penalty for performing Hajj without a permit in 2024, which began to be enforced from Sunday, June 2, 2024, and continues until June 20, coinciding with the end of the Hajj season.
This comes as part of following the instructions of the Hajj system 2024, especially after the authorities apprehended a number of Egyptians arriving in the Kingdom on personal visit visas, intending to perform Hajj without a permit.
The Hajj permit allows the complete performance of the pilgrimage without the pilgrim facing obstacles in completing the rituals or benefiting from the services provided by the Ministry of Hajj to serve pilgrims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Hajj clarified the penalty for performing Hajj without a permit for visitors in 2024, which entails imposing a financial fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals.
The fine applies to pilgrims who do not possess permits in the following areas: “Mecca, Medina, the holy sites, the Haramain train station in Al-Rasifah, security control centers, sorting centers, temporary security control centers.”
The Ministry of Interior urged citizens to adhere to the instructions and Hajj regulations for the year 1445 to ensure the safety of pilgrims during their stay in the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah outlined the conditions for issuing Hajj permits in 2024, which must be met by applicants to perform the rituals safely. These conditions include:
- The accompanying or escorting individual must be at least 12 years old.
- The escort must be of the first or second degree in kinship, and other cases require approval from the Licensing Committee.
- Family members can be added, up to a maximum of 5 individuals (escort or accompanied).
