Abu Ubaida, the military spokesperson for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, announced that the brigades had successfully recruited thousands of new fighters. He noted that these fighters are ready to confront the enemy whenever necessary, and that defensive capabilities have been enhanced throughout the Gaza Strip.
In a recorded speech marking nine months since the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Abu Ubaida stated, “The Palestinian people continue to face aggression and genocide as punishment for their steadfastness on their land.” He emphasized that “the Al-Aqsa Flood was not the beginning of our resistance to the occupation’s aggression but was an eruption in response to the enemy’s crimes.”
Abu Ubaida continued, “We are still fighting in Gaza without external support, and our people remain resilient despite the lack of food and medicine,” explaining that “our fighters have been combating the enemy for nine months, breaking the ranks of an enemy army supported by the United States and Britain.”
The Qassam Brigades’ spokesperson highlighted independent opinion polls, stating that after months of Israeli aggression, they show how the Palestinian people rally behind their resistance.
He added, “The occupation army uses civilians as human shields, bombs homes, and violates hospitals, schools, mosques, and churches,” noting that “the world has witnessed through the occupation’s crimes in Gaza the falsehood of international organizations and the impotence of the so-called human rights laws.”
Regarding military capabilities, Abu Ubaida revealed that “the Qassam Brigades managed to recruit thousands of new fighters during the war, and thousands of fighters are ready to confront the enemy whenever necessary.” He explained that “our fighters’ ability to fight and confront has become stronger in the face of the occupation’s crimes and genocide,” and that defensive capabilities have been enhanced everywhere in the Gaza Strip.
Battle of Rafah
Regarding the military operation in the city of Rafah, Abu Ubaida said that “the battle of Rafah and the feats of our fighters in Shuja’iyya and elsewhere demonstrate the strength of our resistance and the enemy’s failure and defeat,” indicating that “there is no place in Gaza for forces hiding in homes like thieves or officers hiding behind armored vehicles.”
He also affirmed that “the central sector, known as Netzarim, will be a hub of terror and death, from which the enemy will emerge defeated and vanquished.”
Recruitment of Thousands of New Fighters
On military capabilities, Abu Ubaida disclosed that “the Qassam Brigades managed to recruit thousands of new fighters during the war, and there are thousands of fighters ready to confront the enemy whenever necessary.”
He explained that “the ability of our fighters to combat and confront has strengthened against the occupation’s crimes and genocide,” as defensive capabilities have been enhanced throughout the Gaza Strip.
“Netanyahu Tries to Escape Failure”
Abu Ubaida also addressed the Israeli public and the families of the occupation soldiers in Gaza and those held captive, saying: “It is now clear to you and the entire world that the absolute victory that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu talks about is his personal victory in sidelining his rivals and staying in power, at the expense of sacrificing your sons.”
He added, “Therefore, the fate of your sons, enemy public, has become a game in the hands of your prime minister and his government ministers.”
He considered that all that Netanyahu does “is an attempt to escape the truth and the failure that will haunt him for the rest of his life,” noting that “what has been recently revealed in the enemy circles about the massive intelligence failure on October 7 is minor compared to what we will reveal at the appropriate time.”
Developments in the West Bank
Regarding developments in the West Bank, Abu Ubaida said that the ongoing escalation of resistance in Jenin, Nablus, and all the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem governorates “is a response and a choice of our people in the face of the systematic genocide, Judaization, and settlement policies implemented by the government of aggression and crime.”
He continued, “The biggest message to this arrogant enemy and the ministers of its Nazi government is that the nightmare of the West Bank and Jerusalem and the revolutionary cells from the land occupied in 1948 is inevitable.”
He also extended greetings to the Hezbollah members in Lebanon, Palestinian factions, and the Islamic group in Lebanon, and their martyrs, as well as to the “Ansar Allah” (Houthis) and the Iraqi factions, stating: “They all informed us of their continuous effective support and the ongoing escalation of response until the aggression on Gaza stops.”
Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with American support, resulting in more than 125,000 Palestinian casualties, most of them children and women, and over 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and a famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children.
Tel Aviv continues its war, ignoring two UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately and orders from the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
