Hamas perceives the Israeli occupation’s actions as a threat to Gaza’s population, forcing them into southern areas of the Strip to disrupt negotiations, as per a source familiar with the matter speaking to Al Mayadeen Media.
The source emphasized that Hamas views negotiations as futile as long as “Israel” persists in imposing its will through force and criminal tactics.
In a press release, Hamas denounced the escalation of Israeli aggression against Gaza’s neighborhoods, targeting tens of thousands of civilians and displacing them. They characterized these actions as a continuation of a nine-month genocide against Palestinians.
“The enemy’s egregious violations and aggression against defenseless civilians, with unwavering support from the American administration, will not break our resilient people. Our heroic Resistance will steadfastly defy these oppressive forces,” Hamas declared.
Hamas called upon mediators to intervene decisively to halt Netanyahu’s maneuvers and crimes. They urged the United Nations and the international community to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities, apply pressure on the occupation to cease its genocide against Palestinians, and prosecute war criminals.
A Message to the People:
Meanwhile, the Palestinian al-Mujahideen Movement condemned the Israeli occupation’s escalating aggression in Gaza, its reckless targeting of civilians, and its strategy of displacing Palestinians. They condemned the international community’s silence and inaction towards these crimes, placing primary responsibility on the United States as “Israel’s” chief supporter.
Hamas warned Palestinians of the psychological warfare waged by Netanyahu’s government, affirming their resilience and determination to thwart such attempts as they have in the past.
The al-Mujahideen Movement underscored the Palestinian people’s resolve to resist displacement plans and affirmed that ongoing Israeli crimes would not diminish their determination or their resistance.
They called for intensified resistance operations on all fronts against the brutal occupier, urged global solidarity actions supporting Palestine, and demanded increased pressure against the occupation and its backers to halt the genocide.
Hamas’s Stance on Ceasefire Talks:
Regarding ceasefire negotiations, Hamas has not presented a formal proposal but has shown flexibility in discussions, according to Hamas representative Ahmed Abdul Hadi in Lebanon.
Abdul Hadi clarified that while Hamas is open to discussing the language of proposals, the core issues remain non-negotiable. “The substance of our proposal remains unchanged,” he emphasized.
Intermediaries have indicated a positive atmosphere in negotiations, suggesting potential for an agreement.
“The ball is now in the court of the occupation and the United States to maintain pressure on Netanyahu,” Abdul Hadi asserted.
He affirmed that the resistance is prepared for any outcome, whether Netanyahu agrees to terms or not. “We approach this objectively and will continue to resist the Israeli occupation if no agreement is reached. Achieving an agreement would be a positive development,” he concluded, noting Hamas’s trust in the resistance, the Palestinian people, and their support networks rather than in Netanyahu or the United States.
