Abu Hamza, the military spokesperson for al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement (PIJ), announced that the Resistance forces successfully neutralized an Israeli occupation force from point-blank range in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood in northern Gaza.
In a statement, Abu Hamza emphasized the ineffectiveness of the Israeli occupation’s strategies in Rafah, the Shabora neighborhood, Yibna, and Tell al-Sultan, where explosive devices targeted and damaged the invaders’ tanks. He highlighted that the Resistance maintains a strong and active presence across various regions.
Abu Hamza also condemned the mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, describing it as a reflection of “systematic Zionist brutality and injustice.” He asserted that the rights of prisoners are being violated at unprecedented levels by the occupation forces.
He reiterated that the Palestinian resistance prioritizes the plight of the prisoners, stating, “Their liberation is inevitable despite the enemy’s arrogance and oppression.”
Moreover, Abu Hamza accused the occupation of resorting to the “despicable” tactic of targeting civilians and committing massacres to cover up its “severe operational failures.”
Fight to go on
He reaffirmed that the Resistance is determined to continue the fight “by all available means and methods until the occupation is driven out,” calling for sustained mobilization and combat efforts.
Israeli occupation forces announced Thursday they would halt their attack on al-Shujaiya. The announcement coincides with continued attacks conducted by the Resistance, which underlines the Resistance’s steadfast presence in the area, as well as its robust operational capabilities.
The al-Quds Brigades said that their fighters fired barrages of mortar shells at Israeli occupation forces positioned on a hilltop in southeastern al-Shujaiya.
Al-Quds Brigades fighters who returned from the frontlines on Wednesday also reported executing several attacks that included direct confrontations with occupation forces and a sniping operation.
The Resistance faction revealed that its fighters engaged an Israeli special force positioned in a building in the neighborhood, confirming casualties among occupation troops.
Al-Quds Brigades fighters also detonated several improvised explosive devices (IEDs), targeting Israeli vehicles, and engaging an Israeli force in a close-quarters battle in the neighborhood.
A sniper unit also shot an Israeli soldier near the hilltop mentioned earlier.
