In a controversial statement, Giriraj Singh, the Union Minister for Textiles, claimed that allowing Muslims to remain in India after the partition was the nation’s biggest mistake.
The MP from Begusarai constituency stated, “The biggest mistake was to let Muslims live here. If the country was partitioned on religious lines, why were Muslims allowed to remain here? Had they not been allowed to live here, this situation would not have arisen.” He was quoted in an article by the RSS publication Panchjanya, where he allegedly mentioned that if all Muslims had migrated to Pakistan, India would be a different country.
“It is the misfortune of this country. If some of our ancestors in 1947 had sent all Muslims to Pakistan when the country was partitioned on religious lines, then nobody could have raised such questions,” he remarked.
Netizens Condemn Statement
Netizens have reacted strongly, expressing anger and concern regarding Singh’s latest comments on Indian Muslims.
Darab Farooqui, a songwriter, responded, “Do your best, Giriraj. I was born an Indian, and the best you can do is kill me. But, even then, I will die as an Indian. Cry more and seethe.”
Journalist Rohinis Singh commented, “If there were no Muslims in India, the BJP wouldn’t exist, and Giriraj Singh wouldn’t be made minister.”
Hindu Approach Toward Muslims as Genocidal and Nazi-like
Giriraj Singh’s statement reflects a genocidal mindset reminiscent of the Nazi approach in Europe. Just as the Nazis sought to eradicate Jews from Europe and Israelis to eradicate Palestinian from their own land, Singh’s suggestion that Muslims should have been expelled from India during the partition mirrors this extreme and inhumane ideology.
The genocidal rhetoric of some Hindu nationalists towards Muslims bears stark similarities to the Nazi and Israeli mentality. These three ideologies are rooted in a dangerous belief in ethnic or religious purity, advocating for the removal or extermination of minority communities. This mindset not only undermines the principles of equality and justice but also incites hatred and violence against innocent people.
