The Walt Disney Company has announced its support for Israel, pledging $2 million to organizations providing relief to Israelis and the Israeli Defense Forces.
Disney Supports Israel
According to the Walt Disney website, the donation aims to assist Israel, particularly those affected by the conflict. Bob Iger, CEO of Walt Disney, expressed the company’s commitment to helping those suffering in the region.
In doing so, Walt Disney has disregarded the destruction and killing of innocent people, including children, women, and men, in Gaza by the occupying force since October 7th. The latest bombing of refugee camps in the area has led to the martyrdom of hundreds of Palestinians, bringing the total number of martyrs to nearly 40,000, most of whom are children and women.
Bob Iger, in his press statements, said, “We must all do what we can to support Israelis who are suffering so much pain. We will continue to find more ways to provide support in the region, honor the victims and their families, and all those affected by this war.”
Disney’s $2 million donation includes support for Magen David Adom, an organization providing emergency medical services and essential blood bank services in Israel. The remaining funds will be directed to various non-profit organizations in the region, with a particular focus on providing aid to Israelis.
Additionally, Disney has committed to matching charitable donations made by Disney employees and has expanded its support with an additional contribution of up to $25,000.
