The Hebrew Broadcasting Authority, citing security officials, has reported that Israeli military operations in Gaza have, for the most part, reached their conclusion.
According to these officials, Israel retains the option to re-enter Gaza should new intelligence warrant such action. Additionally, the security establishment has advised the political leadership that the timing is now favorable for pursuing a prisoner exchange agreement.
This announcement coincides with the conclusion of the latest round of negotiations in Doha, which ended without yielding any tangible outcomes.
On Friday morning, the Israeli military issued new evacuation orders in central Gaza, instructing displaced Palestinians to relocate yet again. This directive comes amid the ongoing military campaign and repeated warnings from the United Nations that there are no safe havens left within the besieged enclave.
The Israeli army specifically ordered the evacuation of residents from the eastern neighborhoods of Deir al-Balah, al-Qarara, al-Mawasi, al-Jalaa, Hamad, and al-Nasr, calling for immediate compliance.
Accompanying this directive, the Israeli military announced its intention to target these areas in northern Khan Younis and eastern Deir al-Balah, justifying the actions as part of ongoing operations against Palestinian resistance forces.
The Israeli occupation forces continue to drive Palestinians from one location to another, under the pretense of directing them to “safe zones,” despite the systematic targeting of displaced persons and shelters, which has resulted in numerous atrocities, claiming the lives of hundreds and leaving many more wounded.
Earlier this week, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo reiterated that “there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip,” highlighting the grim reality that civilians in Gaza are being ordered to evacuate to increasingly restricted and dangerous areas.
Last week, the Israeli military expedited efforts to displace residents from several neighborhoods and areas within central Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, even as it targeted sites where displaced persons had sought refuge.
Tragically, last Saturday, the Israeli military carried out yet another devastating massacre against the Palestinian population in Gaza. Over 100 individuals were killed and dozens more injured when the “Al-Tabeen” school, sheltering displaced families in the al-Daraj neighborhood of central Gaza City, was struck.
