Abu Obeida commends Hezbollah’s op: Reflects changing Israeli reality

The spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades Abu Obeida lauds Hezbollah on Sunday for their initial retaliation against “Israel” in response to the assassination of commander Sayyed Fouad Shokor.

In a statement, Abu Obeida expressed “appreciation” for the “tremendous sacrifices of our people in Lebanon and its heroic Resistance fighters,” emphasizing that Hezbollah’s operation “reaffirms the changing strategic reality for the occupying entity since the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation.”

He also pointed out that Hezbollah’s operation confirms that “the enemy is not safe from punishment, and there are no limits to the possibility of striking it anywhere and from any front.”

Abu Obeida’s statements came shortly after Hezbollah’s chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a speech detailing the group’s operations.

Sayyed Nasrallah mentioned that the primary targets of the operation, dubbed “Operation Arbaeen”, were the Glilot base of Israeli military intelligence and Unit 8200 (Aman), located near Tel Aviv, in addition to the Ein Shemer airbase in northern occupied Palestine.

He explained that these targets were chosen because they were directly linked to the assassination of martyred leader Sayyed Shokor.

Following the operation, Hezbollah announced that it had successfully completed the first part of its response to the assassination.

In this phase, the group targeted Israeli barracks and sites to facilitate the passage of attack drones toward their intended target, later identified as Glilot Base and Ein Shemer Airbase. The drones successfully reached their destination as planned, according to the statement.

Secondly, the statement confirms that the number of Katyusha rockets fired exceeded 320, targeting enemy positions.

The Israeli occupation army said that an Israeli navy soldier was killed and two others were wounded during Hezbollah’s response.
