Gaza City – The military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades respectively, have released separate footage showcasing intense battles in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun and Tel Al-Hawa in Gaza City.
In one of the videos, Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, successfully snipered an Israeli soldier in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood. The footage, shared by Al-Qassam, depicts the precise moment a fighter targets an Israeli soldier who had taken cover in a building south of Al-Zaytoun, near the Najoom Hall.
The video captures the soldier being shot while positioned in a building across from the Al-Qassam fighters. Simultaneously, Israeli media outlets reported the death of an Israeli soldier from sniper fire in Al-Zaytoun, with another soldier critically wounded.
This is not the first instance of Al-Qassam inflicting casualties in the area. In recent days, several Israeli soldiers were killed and injured around Al-Zaytoun, prompting the evacuation of the wounded by Israeli helicopters.
Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, engaged Israeli occupation forces in Tel Al-Hawa, southwest of Gaza City. The footage released by Al-Quds Brigades shows their fighters attacking a building where Israeli soldiers were stationed behind the university college in Tel Al-Hawa.
The resistance fighters clashed with the occupying soldiers in the building’s basement, with the sounds of intense gunfire echoing between the two sides. The fighters successfully targeted the Israeli forces with a “TBG” projectile, leading to an explosion in the building. The video also captures the screams of Israeli soldiers calling for help, followed by the arrival of a helicopter to support the troops on the ground.
The ongoing clashes between Palestinian resistance factions and Israeli occupation forces have resulted in heavy casualties. In just one week, at least eight Israeli soldiers were killed in ambushes and skirmishes with resistance fighters across multiple fronts, including the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood and other central and southern areas of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army has also acknowledged the death of a major in battles in central Gaza, raising the official death toll of Israeli soldiers since October 7th to 703.
