The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, have announced that their fighters continue to engage Israeli occupation forces in Jenin and Tulkarm with gunfire and explosive devices. The Brigades reported that they successfully detonated over ten explosive devices targeting the invading occupation forces’ vehicles in both cities.
Similarly, the Islamic Jihad’s military wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, highlighted that their fighters have executed major operations in the second phase of the battle, particularly the “death traps” in Jenin and Tulkarm, which have significantly altered the course of the confrontation.
The Israeli occupation forces stormed Tulkarm refugee camp in the northern West Bank, sparking armed clashes between resistance fighters and the occupation army. On Thursday, for the second consecutive day, the Israeli army continued its aggressive campaign on cities and towns in the northern occupied West Bank, resulting in the martyrdom of 17 Palestinians and injuring dozens more, amid growing international concern and calls to protect civilians from the ongoing Israeli aggression.
The Israeli military has launched its largest military operation since 2002, targeting the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm and their refugee camps, while also withdrawing from the Al-Far’a refugee camp after more than 30 hours of aggression.
Palestinian resistance factions persist in their defense against the Israeli onslaught in the northern West Bank, which was announced by the occupation forces at dawn on Wednesday.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the Israeli army has expanded its aggression in Tulkarm to include its refugee camp and the Nur Shams camp, raiding dozens of homes and subjecting a large number of residents to on-the-spot interrogations.
The Israeli occupation forces continued to besiege the Nur Shams camp, claiming that they had assassinated the commander of the Tulkarm Brigade, Mohammed Jaber, also known as “Abu Shuja,” along with four other resistance fighters after an armed confrontation in the camp.
According to WAFA, the number of Palestinian martyrs since the beginning of the large-scale Israeli operation in the northern occupied West Bank has risen to 17, with over 30 others injured.
The Israeli army stormed the eastern neighborhood of the besieged city of Jenin for the second day in a row, deploying additional military reinforcements around the camp as intermittent explosions and intense clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters continued.
WAFA further reported that the Israeli forces demolished Palestinian vehicles and properties in Jenin using bulldozers and destroyed streets and infrastructure in the city and its refugee camp.
In related developments, the Israeli army carried out a series of arrests of Palestinians following its invasion of several neighborhoods in Nablus, as well as the Balata and Askar refugee camps.
The occupation forces also conducted multiple raids in the Al-Arroub refugee camp near Hebron, in addition to the city of Ramallah in the southern occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, the Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 25 Palestinians in the West Bank from Wednesday until Thursday morning, including former prisoners.
This brings the total number of Palestinians detained since the onset of the aggression in the northern West Bank last Wednesday to 24 arrests.
In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoners Club emphasized that “the campaigns of arrest represent one of the key systematic policies employed by the occupation forces, serving as a primary tool in the collective punishment strategy (…) amidst the comprehensive aggression against our people and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”
