As part of Al-Azhar’s “Quran Recitation Day” Initiative, 6,251 students from various provinces across Egypt successfully recited the entire Quran in one session.
This initiative, organized by Al-Azhar’s educational institutions, aimed to enhance Quranic learning and recitation skills among students, Iqna reported.
The event, overseen by Mohamed Al-Duwaini, Al-Azhar’s representative, took place in Quran memorization offices across the country.
Sheikh Ayman Abdelghani, head of Al-Azhar’s educational institutions, explained that the recitation lasted all day, with each student reciting their memorized portions to a teacher or assistant.
If a student was unable to recite all their memorized portions in one day, they were encouraged to recite as much as they could.
The activities were recorded and shared among students to promote a spirit of competition and encourage wider participation.
Abul-Yazid Salamat, Director General of Quran Affairs at Al-Azhar, highlighted the extensive preparation students underwent, practicing their recitations until they were ready for a complete recitation.
The success of the “Quran Recitation Day” initiative reflects Al-Azhar’s commitment to fostering Quranic knowledge and skills among its students, laying a strong foundation for their spiritual and academic development.
The Qur’an is a revelation from God, the Creator of the worlds, so He is the original author.
Memorizing the Holy Qur’an is one of the most important ways to preserve Allah’s message.
