On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Lebanese social media users shared videos documenting the initial moments of a series of new attacks targeting the wireless communication devices in Lebanon. The Israeli attacks resulted in multiple deaths and hundreds of injuries.
The videos revealed the state of panic and alarm experienced by Lebanese citizens following the sudden sound of explosions.
One of the wireless communication devices exploded during a funeral attended by dozens of Hezbollah members who had perished in yesterday’s explosions that targeted pager devices.
Footage also captured the burning of several cars, homes, and residential apartments in various areas of Lebanon following the explosion of numerous wireless communication devices.
This comes amid a series of new explosions that have shaken Lebanon, targeting communication devices used by Hezbollah members. The explosions took place in the southern suburbs of Beirut, resulting in fatalities and dozens of injuries. This followed a similar wave of explosions the day before, which targeted Hezbollah’s wireless communication devices, causing deaths and hundreds of injuries.

A source added that it remains unclear whether the devices in question were pagers. At least one explosion occurred near a funeral organized by Hezbollah for those killed in the previous day’s attacks, which destroyed thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah in Lebanon.
According to a report from an Anadolu Agency correspondent, explosions were heard in the southern suburbs of Beirut and several southern towns as a result of wireless communication devices exploding, with cars and apartments catching fire due to the blasts.
Meanwhile, the American news site “Axios,” citing two sources, reported that Israel had detonated thousands of wireless communication devices used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon. The report added that Wednesday’s attack is the second phase of Israel’s intelligence operation against Hezbollah’s communication network.
On Tuesday, 12 people were killed and around 2,800 others injured, 300 of whom are in critical condition, in an attack that led to the detonation of thousands of pagers used primarily by Hezbollah for communication, according to the latest tally from Lebanon’s Ministry of Health as of Wednesday.
