With the anniversary of his martyrdom, we monitor unanimous positions and excerpts from the life of Al-Khattab.
Humiliate Myself
Our master “Ben Al-Khattab” was humble and always accountable to himself, as it was reported from “Urwah bin Al-Zubayr” one of the historians of the Islamic state at the time, that he saw the Commander of the Faithful carrying water on his shoulders, so he said to him: “Oh, Commander of the Faithful, you should not do this.” , the symbol of justice replied, saying: “When the delegations came to me, listening and obedient, I entered my soul; So I wanted to break it.” And in another narration: “My soul liked it, so I wanted to humiliate it.”
Bread and Oil
Al-Khattab did not give himself privileges for being the Commander of the Faithful other than those taken by Muslims, for he was in the year of Ramada, in which the Muslims were afflicted with drought and hunger, and he only ate bread and oil until his skin blackened, and he said: “Wretched is the ruler if I am full and the people are hungry.” He was talking to his stomach, saying: “Gargle or not, you will not taste meat until Muslim children are satisfied.”
Baby Alimony
It was said on the authority of Omar, that when a company of merchants went down to Medina, he asked the companion “Abdul-Rahman bin Auf” to guard them, and he heard “Al-Khattab”, the crying of a boy, so he went towards him and said to his mother: “Fear God Almighty and do good to your boy.” Then he returned to In his place, he heard his crying, so he went back to his mother and told her the same hadith. Then he returned to his place. When it was at the end of the night, he heard the crying of the boy, so he came to his mother and said to her: “Woe to you, are you the mother of bad money? I see your son who has not been crying since this night?”
She said: “O Abdullah – and she does not know that he is Omar Ibn Al-Khattab – I keep him from eating, so he refuses.” He said: “Why?” I replied to him: “Because Omar does not impose alimony except for the weaned.” The Commander of the Faithful replied: “Misery for your age.” One of the children of Muslims was killed.” Then he commanded his caller, who called out: Do not hurry your children from weaning, and impose alimony for every newborn in Islam.
Fear For The Camel
It was said on the authority of “Ali bin Abi Talib”, may God be pleased with him, that he saw our master “Umar” jogging outside the city, so he said to him: “Where are you going, Commander of the Faithful?” He replied: “A camel – meaning that he ran away – from the apple of alms, has been ransomed. I am asking for it.” Ali said: “I am tired of the caliphs after you, Omar.” The latter replied to him: “If a mule had stumbled in Iraq, Omar would have been asked about it, why did you not pave the way for it?”
Some Wheat
On the authority of Aslam Mawla – one of the most famous narrators of the hadith – he said that he went out one night with our master Omar to a place full of rocks, and they stayed there until they found a woman and her boys lighting a fire, so the Commander of the Faithful said to them: “Peace be upon you, O companions of light.. What’s wrong with you?”
The woman said: “The night and the cold have shortened us.” Omar replied: “What is the matter with these boys crying?” She said: “From hunger.” He said: “And what is on the fire?” She said: “Water I use for them until they sleep, God is between us and me.” Omar.” So the latter cried and ran back to the house of flour, and he brought out a lot of flour and grease.
And he said: “O Aslam, I carry it on my back.” He replied: “I am carrying it on your behalf, Commander of the Faithful.” He said: “Are you bearing my burden on my behalf on the Day of Resurrection?” So he carried it on his back and we went to the woman. Under the pot, until it was settled and gave it to the young, then he bequeathed them to alimony.
Abu Bakr
The severity of his humility is evident in this narration. It was narrated that Jubayr bin Nufair, one of the great Muslims, said that a group of people said to the Commander of the Faithful: “We have not seen a man who judges with justice, and I do not speak for the truth, nor do I speak harshly to the hypocrites than you, Commander of the Faithful, for you are the best of people after the Messenger of God.” Allah”.
Auf bin Malik – one of the Muslim soldiers who witnessed the conquest of Makkah – said: “You lied, by God, we saw after the Messenger of God.” They said: “Who is he?” He replied: “Abu Bakr.” Omar said: “Awf was truthful and you lied, by God.” Abu Bakr was better than the wind of musk, and I am more astray than my family’s camel.” This is because Abu Bakr embraced Islam 6 years before him.
Omar’s Disease
And when Omar fell ill, may God be pleased with him one day, they prescribed honey to him as medicine, and the treasury had honey that came from the conquered countries. forbidden.” The crowd cried out of pity for him and gave permission for him.
