A source within Hezbollah has disclosed details of the deadly ambush set by its fighters against an elite unit of the Israeli occupation forces, which had infiltrated hundreds of meters into Lebanese territory, resulting in the deaths of 8 officers and soldiers and leaving over 30 wounded.
The source, speaking to Hezbollah’s Military Media platform, stated that “in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Islamic Resistance fighters monitored reconnaissance movements by the Israeli enemy’s army in an unseen area opposite the town of Al-Adaysseh, as part of a reconnaissance mission for a possible advance of enemy soldiers.”
He explained that “the fighters did not engage the reconnaissance unit and allowed it to complete its mission and return. Based on the movements and behavior of this unit, the fighters were able to set up an advanced ambush in the Al-Adaysseh quarry area, waiting for the elite forces to position themselves in one of the local homes.”
He added, “At dawn on Wednesday, a force from the elite Israeli army unit, consisting of more than 30 officers and soldiers, silently infiltrated the ambush zone. Upon reaching the ambush point, not far from the border, and with the cry of ‘Labbaik Ya Nasrallah,’ the fighters unleashed a barrage of light and heavy gunfire along with rocket-propelled grenades.”
The source highlighted that the clash quickly escalated to close-range combat, “resulting in numerous casualties among the infiltrating force, with soldiers wailing in pain from their dead and wounded comrades.”
Simultaneously, Hezbollah’s nearby support groups targeted the occupation’s supply lines in Meskaf Aam, Kfar Giladi, and Metula with mortars and rockets, further hindering reinforcements from reaching the targeted force.
The source noted that the Israeli Air Force immediately intervened with helicopters to comb the area in an attempt to evacuate the dead and wounded, while launching smoke bombs.
He emphasized that “the Resistance promises the enemy that what they witnessed today is only a small glimpse of what awaits them in every inch of southern Lebanon should they dare to advance. Between us and this enemy lie the days, the nights, and the battlefield.”
