A commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated that his country would target Israeli energy and gas facilities if Israel makes the mistake of attacking Tehran in response to the recent missile strikes.
On Friday, Iran’s Student News Network quoted Ali Fadavi, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guard, saying that Iran would target Israeli energy and gas infrastructure if Israel launches an attack on the Republic.
Fadavi said: “If the occupiers commit such a mistake, we will target all energy sources, facilities, refineries, and gas fields.”
Last week, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had struck significant military targets with dozens of missiles in the occupied territories.
In a statement, they said, “The operation was carried out based on a decision from the Supreme National Security Council with the support of the military.”
The statement added that their missile strike had hit “three military bases” in the Tel Aviv area.
The Revolutionary Guard warned that any Israeli retaliation to the operation would be met with even more destructive and powerful attacks.
They emphasized that the operation came after a period of restraint following the assassination of the martyr Ismail Haniyeh.
The statement added: “After a period of restraint in the face of the violation of the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, through the assassination of the martyr Dr. Ismail Haniyeh by the Zionist entity, and based on our right to legitimate self-defense, as established by the United Nations Charter, and in response to the escalating evil acts of the entity, supported by America, in committing massacres in Lebanon and Gaza, and after the killing of the great Mujahid, the leader of the Resistance Axis and the proud Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, along with the martyrdom of the courageous leader and senior advisor of the Revolutionary Guard in Lebanon, Major General Abbas Nilfroshan, the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard launched dozens of ballistic missiles at significant military-security targets in the heart of occupied Palestine. We will provide further details later.”
The statement concluded by saying: “We remind that this operation was carried out with the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, in coordination with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and with the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military and the Ministry of Defense.”
