The extremist Bezalel Smotrich, Israeli Finance Minister in the occupation government, has outlined four key objectives to conclude the ongoing war waged by the occupying state on multiple fronts, amidst the unprecedented escalation of tensions in the region.
On Sunday, Smotrich declared, “The war cannot end unless we eliminate Hamas in Gaza and strip it of any capacity for rehabilitation.”
He further added that the war cannot conclude “until we renew the settlement in Gaza and ensure a permanent and stable Jewish presence,” in addition to “driving Hezbollah beyond the Litani River” in Lebanon.
As for the fourth objective, the extremist minister emphasized, “The war cannot be over before dismantling the regime in Iran and destroying its nuclear project,” as he phrased it.
For a whole year, the occupation has continued its massacres as part of its genocidal war against the people of Gaza, targeting residential homes, medical teams, and journalists.
The ongoing aggression on Gaza has led to more than 42,000 martyrs, over 96,000 injured with various wounds, and thousands still missing under the rubble, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
Simultaneously, since September 23rd, the Israeli occupation has launched hundreds of unprecedented, violent airstrikes on various locations across Lebanon, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries, in addition to the displacement of over 1.2 million people, according to official reports.
According to the Lebanese government’s Disaster Management Unit, the death toll and injury count from the Israeli aggression have risen to 2,011 martyrs and 9,535 injured since the Israeli onslaught began on Lebanon in October last year.
This escalation coincides with the massive missile attack launched by Iran on the occupying state of Israel last week, in retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Abbas Nilforushan in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on September 27th.
The attack also came in response to the assassination of the late elected Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh during a visit to Tehran at the end of July.
Israeli media outlets have revealed that the occupation’s army is preparing for a “major” attack on Iran in response to its recent missile strikes on Israeli targets within the occupied territories.
