In a recent report by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, informed military sources revealed that the Iranian Armed Forces’ planning units have developed at least 10 potential scenarios to counter any Israeli aggression. These scenarios are ready for deployment should the situation require.
According to these sources, the scenarios are not only adaptable, but their very existence highlights Iran’s seriousness in responding to any threat. They emphasized that Iran’s response will not necessarily mirror the nature or scale of an Israeli attack but could be more intense and target a broader range of objectives to enhance the impact of its retaliation.
Military officials also pointed out that, compared to Iran, Israel has very limited geographical space and less sensitive infrastructure. This disparity suggests that Iran’s retaliation could cause unprecedented problems for Israel.
Additionally, the report noted that several nations have informed Iran that they would not support Israel’s actions. The Iranian military also warned that any country aiding Tel Aviv in a potential conflict would cross Iran’s red lines and suffer significant consequences.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi laid out two conditions for a ceasefire with Israel, following discussions with Lebanese officials during his visit to Beirut.
In his statements to Iranian state television, Araghchi said the first condition is for the resistance to be respected, and for their agreement on the ceasefire to ensure the rights of the Lebanese people. The second condition is that any ceasefire in Lebanon must coincide with a full ceasefire in Gaza.
He added, “The situation in Lebanon is far from normal, so my visit to Beirut cannot be considered ordinary. My presence in Beirut, which is under constant bombardment, is a clear sign that Tehran fully supports Hezbollah.”
Araghchi stressed that any Israeli move against Iran would be met with even greater force. He clarified, “Unlike the Zionist entity, which targets civilian centers, we have focused solely on military and security targets linked to this entity.”
He further warned, “Our response to any aggression against us will be more severe, and it will be deliberate and fully calculated.”
On Tuesday, Iran launched a retaliatory missile strike against Israel, firing approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israeli military bases in response to the assassinations of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and a senior member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in Lebanon.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the strike came “after a long period of restraint,” and in a statement, they highlighted that “several key bases and headquarters in the Zionist entity were targeted by dozens of ballistic missiles.”
The statement concluded with a warning: “If the Zionist entity responds to Iran’s targeting, it will face even more severe attacks.” It also mentioned that a series of strikes hit Israeli security and military sites, the details of which will be revealed later.
