Israeli TV channels aired a video capturing the intense confrontation between the head of the Hamas political bureau, Yahya Al-Sinwar, and an Israeli military force before his martyrdom in one of the houses located in the Tel Al-Sultan area of Rafah.
In the footage, Al-Sinwar appears battling a “quad-copter” drone deployed by the occupation forces inside the house where he had taken refuge. Despite his right hand being wounded and bleeding, he threw a stick with his left hand at the drone, demonstrating his resilience and defiance.
Details of the Clash
In newly revealed details about the clash between the occupation forces and Al-Sinwar, along with several fighters who were with him, Israel’s Channel 13 reported that a soldier from the 450th battalion spotted a person entering and exiting a building in Tel Al-Sultan, Rafah, at around 10:00 AM on Wednesday. By 3:00 PM, a military unit began to advance towards the target gradually.
The channel mentioned that an army unit identified three individuals in the area, who were seen using a drone flying in and out of buildings within the engagement zone, seemingly in an attempt to secure the location.
During this time, the occupation forces opened fire at Al-Sinwar and his companions, prompting them to scatter throughout the area. Al-Sinwar managed to enter a building and ascend to the second floor, at which point the occupation forces fired tank shells at the location.
When the commander of the 450th battalion’s unit entered the area to inspect the building where Al-Sinwar was present, Al-Sinwar and his companions responded by throwing two hand grenades at the commander and his soldiers, before subsequently fleeing the scene.
A Hero’s Final Stand
Later on, the forces brought in another drone, which captured footage of an individual (later confirmed to be Al-Sinwar) who was wounded in his hand and masked. Al-Sinwar was seen sitting in the room, attempting to throw a wooden stick at the Israeli drone. Shortly after, the forces fired another tank shell.
On the following day, Thursday morning, an Israeli military unit entered the area to conduct further inspections. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of the fighters, one of whom resembled Yahya Al-Sinwar. It was later confirmed that it was indeed him.
