Diplomatic sources have revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is financing the recruitment of mercenaries from African nations to fight alongside the Israeli army in its ongoing wars against Gaza and Lebanon.
Sources informed “Emirates Leaks” that the recruitment plan focuses particularly on Ethiopia, where hundreds of mercenaries have been enlisted to join the ranks of the Israeli military since the end of last year.
The sources explained that Abu Dhabi has been leveraging its close ties with the Ethiopian government to support Israel by recruiting mercenaries from various Horn of Africa countries.
According to these sources, the UAE has established a strategic alliance with Israel, providing various forms of covert support, the most notable of which includes backing the Israeli military with mercenaries from different nationalities.
The same sources added that the UAE views Israel’s wars on Gaza and Lebanon as a shared strategic interest, encouraging Tel Aviv in every possible way to continue its military campaigns against the Palestinian movement Hamas and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, with the aim of completely eradicating them.
It is well known that the Israeli army extensively relies on thousands of mercenary fighters contracted through private military companies to perform military services, some of which indirectly support the war in Gaza.
The UAE provides the necessary financial backing to global companies specialized in contracting mercenaries and bringing them to Israel, such as “Raven” and “Global CST,” which are private military firms that have been contracted by the Israeli army to employ mercenaries for executing military operations.
More than 700 Israeli officers and soldiers have been killed since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
These figures emerge at a time when Tel Aviv faces accusations of concealing the true toll of its casualties and injuries in Gaza. Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that the army is paying “a heavy price” in its battles within the strip and is engaged in “fierce combat” against Palestinian fighters.
According to official data, the rehabilitation department in the Israeli Ministry of Defense has received 10,056 injured soldiers since the start of the war on Gaza, averaging more than a thousand new injuries each month.
A statement from the ministry indicated that over 3,700 of the injured suffer from limb injuries, including 192 head injuries, 168 eye injuries, 690 spinal cord injuries, and 50 amputees currently receiving treatment in the rehabilitation department.
In this context, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the data shows that over a thousand new wounded soldiers are being received every month due to the ongoing fighting in Gaza.
The authority further noted that 68% of the injured soldiers are from the reserve forces, most of
