The American news outlet “Axios” has revealed that the Israeli occupation has submitted a “Document of Principles” to the United States, aiming to end the aggression against Lebanon.
The report, citing American and Israeli officials, mentioned that U.S. administration envoy Amos Hochstein is set to arrive in Beirut on Monday to discuss the possibility of reaching a diplomatic solution to end the conflict with Lebanese officials.
According to “Axios,” the document was sent to Hochstein by Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, a close associate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The document, which the occupation presented to Washington last week, proposes allowing displaced people on both sides of the border to return to their homes.
Moreover, the document, as per the news source, allows the Israeli occupation forces to ensure that Hezbollah does not rearm itself, granting the Israeli Air Force the freedom to operate within Lebanese airspace.
It explicitly demands that Israel’s air forces retain the right to unrestricted access in Lebanese skies.
The report, quoting an American source, indicated that the international community might not approve of the terms set by Israel within the Document of Principles.
It is expected that Lebanese officials will reject the provisions of the document, with Hezbollah also likely to dismiss its terms.
It is noteworthy that Israel has been conducting aggression against Lebanon since October 8, 2023, escalating its operations since September 23.
The ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in the martyrdom of over 2,400 individuals due to continuous airstrikes targeting the southern regions of the country, as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut.
