Widespread Reactions to a Scene Showing a Girl in Gaza Carrying Her Injured Sister

Footage that has stirred widespread engagement on social media platforms captured heartbreaking moments of a young Palestinian girl from Gaza walking barefoot while carrying her younger sister on her back, who had sustained a leg injury.

The widely circulated footage on various social platforms showed the young girl trudging under the scorching sun of Gaza, barefoot, carrying her wounded sister. She was making her way to the place where her family was staying, about two kilometers away, according to Palestinian media sources.

According to the video, the girl had to carry her sister after treating her injured leg at a local medical point. The person who captured the incident on camera later transported them in his vehicle. Activists and commentators on social media reacted to the footage, expressing their outrage over the catastrophic conditions in Gaza amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression.

A user on the platform “X” (formerly Twitter) commented on the video of the Palestinian girl and her sister: “A heartbreaking scene… This is one of the stories documented by cameras.”

Palestinian journalist Anas Al-Sharif also commented on the scene, saying: “A displaced girl carries her injured sister, searching for a safe haven, escaping the Israeli occupation forces.”

For the 382nd consecutive day, the occupation continues to commit massacres as part of its ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza, targeting inhabited homes, as well as medical and press teams.

The death toll from the ongoing aggression on Gaza has risen to over 42,000 martyrs, with more than 98,000 injured, in addition to thousands still missing under the rubble, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
