Israeli Channel 14 has reported, citing Israeli officials, that attack plans on Iran have already been presented to decision-makers, indicating that the attempted assassination of Netanyahu will be taken into consideration before the attack on Iran.
The channel explained that the homes of senior officials in Iran have been added as potential targets for an Israeli attack. It further stated that the military leadership and Mossad have presented Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant with response plans against Iran, and only a select few are privy to the details of these plans.
It was also noted that the Israeli Air Force will be informed of the precise target for the attack on Iran shortly before execution. “Israel” reportedly has several options, including targeting nuclear facilities, oil installations, and military and governmental sites within Iran.
Meanwhile, Channel 13 confirmed that ministers from the Security Cabinet were informed that a “massive” attack is to be carried out on Iran soon.
During a meeting held last night (Sunday, October 20), the Security Cabinet ministers were briefed that a “massive” operation is expected to take place in Iran shortly. The channel added that “Israel” anticipates a strong response from Iran to this attack.
Earlier on Monday, the Security Cabinet convened against the backdrop of preparations to respond to the missile attack that Iran launched earlier this month, along with accusations made by Netanyahu against Tehran, holding it responsible for sending drones towards his residence in Caesarea.
Senior officials told the channel that “Israel is preparing for a serious and significant response in Iran.”
In preparation for the attack, the deployment of the American THAAD missile defense system has been completed in the occupied territories.
Additionally, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to arrive on Tuesday for a diplomatic visit to the occupying state, where he will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On the other hand, the Iranian Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday, citing an Iranian military source, that “any Israeli attack on nuclear sites will be met with a response, taking into account nuclear policies.”
The source added that the response “will exceed expectations if Israel targets military sites as well,” emphasizing that “Iran has made no commitments regarding the type and scope of its response if Israel strikes its facilities and infrastructure.”
