The Rehabilitation Department of the Occupation’s Ministry of War has unveiled substantial figures regarding the number of soldiers injured during the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, including soldiers who sustained injuries at least twice in battle.
Statistics according to “Israel Hayom” indicate that the ground aggression on Lebanon resulted in a significant surge in the number of wounded, with the count of injured on the Lebanese front since September 30 reaching 900 officers and soldiers.
The occupation acknowledged a total of 12,000 injured among army officers, soldiers, and police, predominantly young adults. The statistics reveal that 1,500 soldiers have been injured at least twice.
According to the classification of the types and nature of injuries and the ages of the combatants, the majority of the injured, 51%, are young adults between the ages of 18 and 30, with around 8,500 of them suffering physical injuries.
Meanwhile, 5,200 have developed mental health issues, with 14% of the injured categorized as having moderately severe injuries; 377 of these have suffered serious head injuries and 60 have had parts of their bodies amputated and replaced with prosthetics, while 12 soldiers have lost their sight. Some of those with severe skull injuries have undergone procedures to replace the missing parts using 3D printers.
The report reveals that each month, the Rehabilitation Department receives about a thousand new wounded for treatment, with an additional 500 new requests for recognition as previously injured.
According to “Israel Hayom,” estimates from the Rehabilitation Department suggest that by 2030, there will be about 100,000 disabled individuals in the military, with 50% suffering from mental health disorders.
