The Israeli newspaper “Times of Israel” reported that the Republican candidate for the American presidency, Donald Trump, asked the head of the occupying government, Benjamin Netanyahu, to “end the war” on Gaza should he assume the presidency if he wins the election.
“Times of Israel” cited two informed sources, who chose to remain unnamed, stating that Trump asked Netanyahu to “end the war” in Gaza if he wins, until he officially takes office in the United States.
The American presidential elections are set to begin on November 5th, amidst a fierce competition between the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and the Republican Donald Trump.
Speaking to the newspaper, a former American official who served under Trump’s administration, and an Israeli official, mentioned that Trump conveyed his message to end the attacks on Gaza when he hosted Netanyahu at his private resort, “Mar-a-Lago” in Florida, in July 2024.
It is known that Trump had previously publicly supported Netanyahu concerning the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, and the officials confirmed to the newspaper that this is the first time a “timeline” regarding the aggression on Gaza has been proposed.
According to the newspaper, the former American official confirmed that Trump could support the remaining activities of the occupation in Gaza as long as the Tel Aviv government “officially ends the war.”
On October 25th, the “Washington Post” reported, citing informed sources, that Trump told Netanyahu in a recent call: “Do what you have to do,” regarding Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupation, with absolute American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in more than 144,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, with over 10,000 missing amidst massive destruction and a famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly.
