An Israeli analyst on the Occupation Army’s radio has confirmed that Hezbollah has few options other than to reject the list of Israeli demands, emphasizing that their firm stance against the Israeli military and their response in combat provide them the space to refuse.
Jackie Khoury, the analyst from the Occupation Army’s radio, stated, “Hezbollah refuses to surrender, believing that the Israeli forces ultimately aim to reach the Lebanese capital.” He added, “Even if they do not emerge victorious, they at least know they did not raise the white flag,” as reported by the Hebrew newspaper Maariv.
Khoury continued, “Accepting the Israeli demands would mean surrender for Hezbollah, and they are far from that,” noting that “after this year and the dire situation that Lebanon has reached, if they submit, it would be seen as humiliation for years to come.”
He also touched on a speech by Hezbollah’s new Secretary-General Naim Qassem, who affirmed that Tel Aviv wants the group to surrender in order to control their lives and the future of their generations.
The Israeli analyst believes that Hezbollah expects Israel to continue the fight for several more months, and possibly launch a ground operation to reach Beirut as they did in 1982, pointing out that “they remember history better than us, knowing that history repeats itself.”
Khoury added, “Although they are losing fighters, this is their objective (to fight and sacrifice),” asserting that “they will await the Israeli army in Beirut (their own turf), hoping to achieve victory there, and even if they do not win, at least they will know that they did not surrender.”
Despite this, he observed, “Israel is greatly superior these days, having dismantled Hamas and terrorized Iran, and thanks to Hezbollah, the reality of a secret weapon in the defense system has been exposed. This weapon allows the pinpointing of every enemy leader, regardless of rank, and directly attacking them—an unprecedented and mysterious method,” he described.
Khoury concluded by saying, “Along with the clear superiority in the air and on the ground, the Israeli army today controls the situation in Gaza, Beirut, and Tehran,” emphasizing that “this superiority is temporary, and it is best to use it to achieve a political victory and understandings that benefit Israel.”
He finished by noting, “It is an opportune moment, and Israel should use it wisely. If this chance to shape the reality when the enemies are weak is missed, this superiority may fade, and our enemies might rebuild their capabilities and wish to return to combat as they have after each confrontation in the past.”
