The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Brigadier General Ismail Qaani, sent a message to the new Secretary-General of Lebanese Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, after he assumed this new position.
Qaani stated in his message that “the phase in which Sheikh Naeem Qassem holds the general secretary of Hezbollah is historic, and his election to this position is crucial,” affirming that “Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard will remain alongside the party, until the malignant Zionist tree is uprooted, and Palestine and Jerusalem are liberated.”
The commander of the Revolutionary Guard addressed Qassem, saying, “You are a venerable mujahid personality, enjoying a distinguished record and great love among the mujahideen and the honorable in the resistance.”
He continued, “As I salute the memory of the nation’s martyr, the martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, and the martyr Sayyid Hashim Safi al-Din, and the martyred leaders, officials, and mujahideen in Hezbollah, I pray to Allah that this jihadist march under the leadership of Sheikh Qassem and his stewardship continues with more strength and steadfastness.”
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, last Wednesday, revealed his work plan after being elected to the position of Secretary-General following his predecessor Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated by the Israeli occupation in Beirut last month, emphasizing that supporting the Gaza Strip in the face of the Israeli occupation is a “duty.”
Qassem, in his first recorded speech after being elected as the General Secretary of Hezbollah, said, “A practical program is a continuation of the path of Hassan Nasrallah, we will remain in the path of war according to the developments, and our resistance was founded to liberate the land and confront the occupation and its expansionist intentions.”
He added that “supporting the Gaza Strip was a duty to confront the threat of Israel to the region from the gateway of the sector, and we all owe it to its people a human, Arab, Islamic, and national duty to support them.”
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, and the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” Yahya Sinwar, who was martyred after an armed clash with the occupation in Gaza, described him as “an icon of heroism for Palestine and the free people of the world,” noting that he “resisted until the last breath, and a nation that gave birth to Yahya will live,” as he put it.
Qassem emphasized that Hezbollah “will remain on the path of war within the outlined developments,” explaining that “the resistance was founded for the liberation of the land and to confront the occupation and its expansionist intentions.”
