The Prime Minister of Malaysia announced that his country is drafting a resolution to be presented to the United Nations General Assembly, proposing the expulsion of Israel from the international organization if it continues to violate international law concerning Palestine.
Anwar Ibrahim, in a statement regarding the resolution in the Malaysian Parliament, as reported by the national news agency Bernama, stated that Malaysia has joined the “core group” that prepared the resolution which seeks an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice regarding Israel’s compliance in allowing the activities of United Nations organizations.
He elaborated that if the project is accepted by the UN General Assembly, it would pave the way for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to continue providing aid to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
He noted that discussions on the resolution are ongoing and it will soon be presented to the UN General Assembly.
On the 395th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, medical sources reported that 37 people were killed in raids on the sector since dawn Monday, 25 of them in the northern part of the sector, while the Israeli military continues to target hospitals in northern Gaza.
On Monday, several people were injured in new Israeli shelling targeting Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, North Gaza, where medical sources reported injuries in an Israeli bombardment targeting a children’s sleeping area on the third floor of the hospital.
In this context, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safiyya, stated that the hospital is under a severe blockade and continuous bombing, issuing pleas to all humanitarian organizations to stop this bombardment.
Furthermore, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from Israeli bombings has risen to 43,374 killed and 102,261 injured.
