The Secretary-General of Lebanese Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, warned that Hezbollah’s patience with Israeli violations might run out before the sixty-day duration of the ceasefire agreement expires.
Qassem’s remarks came in a televised speech on the fifth anniversary of the assassination of the former commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani.
In his speech, Qassem cautioned, “Our patience with Israeli violations is linked to our decision about the appropriate timing to confront the Israeli aggression and breaches, and it may run out before the sixty days are up, a decision determined by the resistance’s leadership.”
Addressing critics of Hezbollah’s silence on the Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement, Qassem stated that his party’s leadership “decides when to resist… how to resist… the method of resistance, and the weaponry it uses.”
A few days ago, the Deputy Head of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Mahmoud Qamati, affirmed that the party would patiently endure Israeli violations for 60 days, and on day 61, the situation would be reassessed.
The Israeli army committed 12 ceasefire violations against Hezbollah on Saturday, bringing the total number of breaches since the ceasefire began 39 days ago to 379 violations.
According to various reports published by the Lebanese News Agency, today’s Israeli violations of the agreement were concentrated in the districts of Marjayoun, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil in the Nabatieh Governorate, and the Tyre District in the Southern Governorate.
The violations included incursions, artillery and tank shelling, house and building demolitions, road blockages, and drone flights.
In the Marjayoun district, an Israeli army force advanced towards the town of Burj Al-Mulouk and stationed near the Farah fuel station before blocking the road with barbed wire.
An Israeli incursion was also observed between the towns of Adaisseh and Taybeh.
In the same district, Israeli artillery fired a shell near the Imam Sadr Sports Complex in the Doueir area west of the town of Mays al-Jabal.
The Israeli army also carried out a demolition operation of homes and buildings in the area between the towns of Taybeh and about thirty others.
In the Nabatieh district, intensive low-altitude flights of Israeli drones were observed over the towns of Doueir, Jebchit, Harouf, and Aba, and at a moderate altitude over the Zahrani area north of the Litani River.
In the Bint Jbeil district, an Israeli bulldozer and Merkava tanks entered the town of Maroun Al-Ras and the Akbeh Maroun neighborhood in the city of Bint Jbeil (district center), firing a shell towards a house in this neighborhood.
In the Tyre district, the Israeli army carried out a demolition operation of homes and buildings in the area between the towns of Alma al-Shaab and Tyre Harfa.
Continuous low-altitude reconnaissance flights by Israeli drones were recorded over the city of Tyre (district center) and its surroundings, and the towns of Abbasiya, Tura, Burj Rahal, and Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr.
