Israeli Channel “Kan” has revealed that intelligence services have recruited dozens of Yemeni Jews to address what they described as threats posed by the Ansar Allah Houthi movement.
The report highlighted that the recruits are fluent in Yemeni Arabic dialects. Some of them migrated from Yemen, while others grew up in Arabic-speaking households where the Yemeni dialect was spoken. They will serve in the Israeli Military Intelligence Division (AMAN), assisting in countering threats by gathering intelligence and understanding Yemeni culture.
Meanwhile, U.S. fighter jets carried out airstrikes on what were described as weapons storage facilities used by the Houthis in Yemen to attack American naval and commercial ships.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the operation involved “multiple precision strikes on two underground facilities used to store advanced conventional weapons.” It emphasized that no injuries or damage to U.S. personnel or equipment occurred during the strikes.
Houthi-affiliated media outlets reported that U.S. and British forces conducted five airstrikes in the Harf Sufyan district of Amran province and two additional strikes in the Jarban area of Sanhan district in Sana’a province.
The U.S. statement did not disclose the location of the targeted storage facilities, noting that the strikes were part of ongoing efforts to mitigate threats to military and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
A Yemeni source informed “Arabi21” on Saturday that the United States had proposed a deal to the Ansar Allah Houthi group in Yemen concerning the ongoing reciprocal attacks between the Houthis and the Israeli occupation state.
In solidarity with Gaza amidst the U.S.-backed Israeli genocide, the Houthis have been targeting Israeli-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones since November 2023. They have also launched attacks on targets within Israel.
In response, Israel has conducted multiple strikes on Yemen. The most recent attack occurred about a week ago, during which Israeli media reported the involvement of approximately 100 drones. The Israeli Air Force carried out seven airstrikes on Sana’a and three on Al-Hudaydah.
