A year and three months after the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and the genocidal war waged by the Zionist enemy on Gaza, Gaza and its people emerge victorious from beneath the rubble, blood, and destruction, despite the immense loss of martyrs, wounded, and devastation that surpassed all boundaries.
Gaza emerges victorious because it stood steadfast against the Zionist enemy, refusing to surrender, resisting until the last moment. The resistance fighters continued to confront the Zionist soldiers, reemerging into the light after spending the duration of the aggression underground and in tunnels.
Gaza and its people triumphed because they compelled the enemy to sign an agreement and release prisoners, denying the enemy army access to the captured Zionists, who were only released under an agreement with Hamas and the resistance forces.
Gaza triumphed because its people rejected displacement and refused to leave their land despite the destruction and genocide inflicted upon them—from internal displacement, starvation, and killing to the destruction of all aspects of life. Hospitals, schools, journalists, doctors, women, children, mosques, churches, and universities were all targeted, and humanitarian aid was obstructed.
Gaza prevailed thanks to the steadfastness of its people, the support of resistance fronts in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, and the millions of demonstrators worldwide who rallied for Palestine and the Palestinian people.
However, this victory came at a great cost, with a significant number of martyrs and wounded, particularly in Lebanon and Palestine. Among the martyrs were prominent leaders such as Ismail Haniyeh, Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri, Yahya Sinwar, and Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, along with other resistance leaders.
In the aftermath of this victory, as the agreement to ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon awaits full implementation, several major questions arise that require answers in the coming phase. These questions aim to explore how to continue the resistance, support the Palestinian cause, and confront the Zionist-American project seeking to dominate the region and impose its political, economic, military, cultural, and media agendas.
Major Questions for the Next Phase
-
- How can this monumental battle and its outcomes be leveraged, especially in Palestine and Lebanon, to sustain resistance and confront the Zionist project?
-
- Can Palestinian factions reunify around a shared political and resistance-based agenda that capitalizes on recent events, evaluates Palestinian performance, and avoids falling into internal conflicts in the future?
-
- How can global solidarity with the Palestinian cause be utilized to establish an international grassroots network that supports Palestine, confronts the Zionist project, and works towards prosecuting Zionist leaders in international courts?
-
- How can the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and supporting fronts strengthen Islamic unity, avoiding sectarian and factional conflicts while fostering cooperation among Islamic movements and leftist and nationalist currents?
-
- Can a future Arab-Islamic project be developed to address the challenges posed by the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and the supporting fronts in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Iran? How can the Axis of Resistance’s experience be reassessed to address weaknesses and enhance coordination among resistance forces?
-
- How can the Zionist technological and electronic superiority, evident during this major battle, be addressed? How can the security breaches on multiple fronts be tackled, requiring meticulous evaluation and substantial responsibility, as the conflict is far from over and the enemy will likely escalate security warfare and target resistance leadership and minds?
-
- What is the impact of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and supporting wars on the internal Zionist landscape? How will Zionist leaders act in the next phase? Will we witness increased extremism and expansionism, internal Israeli divisions, or shifts in relations between the Zionist entity and the U.S. and the West, especially under the current U.S. administration?
-
- How can the declining support for the Palestinian cause among Arab and Islamic populations be addressed? How can the Palestinian cause be reactivated in Arab and Islamic public opinion?
-
- What is the future of normalization between Arab states and the Zionist entity? What about the Abraham Accords and the “Deal of the Century”? Will there be new steps in this direction, and how can this plan be confronted in the future?
-
- How can reconstruction efforts be undertaken, leveraging the Arab, Islamic, regional, and international solidarity to rebuild social, health, and educational infrastructure and provide housing for those who lost their homes, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon?
