The fifth column of Arab normalizers refuses to let the moment of the Palestinian resistance’s victory shine without clouding it with baseless claims. The success of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in achieving its strategic and tactical goals is undeniable, as confirmed by the science of warfare, strategic planning, facts on the ground, and the struggles of nations striving for liberation. This truth is evident to specialists and free-thinking minds who reject the illusion of Western superiority, as well as the events following the prisoner exchange.
But does what happened constitute a true victory? What are the strategic and situational ramifications post-ceasefire? Why do Arab normalizers wail louder than the Zionists themselves? And how credible are their claims?
To assess what occurred during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, including the resistance’s performance and the genocidal crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people in Gaza—transforming it into a modern-day inferno that surpasses the Holocaust inflicted by the West on their ancestors—we must rely on established criteria in military science and strategic planning.
The State of the Palestinian Cause: Before and After the Battle
Before the battle, the Palestinian cause teetered on the brink of eradication. The enemy, supported by its allies and complicit Arab collaborators, sought a final resolution through the imposition of a “New Middle East” project via hard and soft power, normalization agreements like the Abraham Accords, and further fragmentation of regional states to secure Zionist hegemony.
Nature and Goals of the Battle
This was not a conventional war but a confrontation between a ruthless settler-colonial force and a persecuted, besieged resistance supported by its popular base. Unlike the 1973 War, which sought to draw attention and affirm regional or international roles despite Egypt’s significant military achievement, this battle did not aim to liberate all of Palestine. Instead, it sought to reframe the Palestinian cause outside the context of normalization and its impending eradication, advancing it one step closer to liberation.
Criteria for Victory and Defeat
Liberation battles differ fundamentally from conventional wars. Losses are not solely material or human but also include moral and strategic setbacks. The key measure is the extent of progress toward the ultimate goal: ending occupation and achieving comprehensive liberation.
A rational and objective assessment cannot overlook the qualitative shift brought about by Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in moving toward ending the occupation. It is a victory for the Palestinian cause, fulfilling the demands of the current phase. The resistance hammered the final nail into the coffin of the Zionist entity, turning it into a burden for its Western allies, especially the U.S. The operation shook the military and field stability of the Zionist entity, supported by fronts in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq. It also created psychological trauma, reverse migration, social disintegration, and economic paralysis, disrupting vital sectors.
The battle placed the Palestinian cause back on the negotiating table for a just interim solution, whose contours remain undefined but will likely differ from previous agreements. This is because today’s negotiators are not the same as those of the past.
Unity of the Palestinian Front
The battle unified Palestinian fronts—Gaza, Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the diaspora—and rallied global public opinion against the Zionist entity. It exposed Western hypocrisy and the international system’s false commitment to values and principles. The resistance also stripped the mask off many Arab regimes, exposing the fifth column of Arab normalizers. The principle that “he who controls the field controls the decision and initiative” was evident in the prisoner exchange process under the truce agreement, demonstrating that Gaza is Hamas, and Hamas is Gaza, as acknowledged by Zionist opinion leaders. It affirmed that the aftermath of this battle will favor Palestine and the resistance, leaving no room for traitorous collaborators.
Detractors of the Resistance
Despite this, voices continue to argue that the resistance did not achieve victory, claiming it brought destruction and genocide to Gaza. They insist that the only solution to the Palestinian cause lies in permanent peace with Israel based on international resolutions.
These voices differ in their motivations but converge in their outcomes. Some speak out of misplaced compassion, justifying their stance with religious or other evidence, often misinterpreted and trivialized, such as the claim: “Strive with patience, O Abu Ubaidah.” Others speak from hatred and serve the Zionist entity and its regional allies among corrupt and oppressive regimes.
In any case, these detractors overlook a fundamental truth: aggression can only be countered by resistance. This is the lesson of history and the essence of human existence, as the Qur’an states: “So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you” [Quran 2:194]. Although fighting is naturally abhorrent to human souls, it is sometimes ordained: “Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you” [Quran 2:216]. Liberation movements, from Algeria’s million martyrs to Vietnam and South Africa, all paid a steep price for freedom.
As for peace, it is regrettable that some continue to cling to it after it evaporated with the martyr Yasser Arafat’s refusal to surrender Jerusalem. Peace has become a mirage pursued by normalizers, only to find it an illusion of submission. Who believes that the Zionist entity would accept a Palestinian state alongside it, even if demilitarized?
A Historic Victory
The Palestinian resistance, supported by Hezbollah, the Houthis in Yemen, Iraqi resistance groups, and the free peoples of the Islamic nation and the world, achieved a historic victory in a critical phase of the struggle against the Zionist colonial project. This victory paves the way for future battles toward the liberation of Al-Aqsa. As for the Arab normalizers and their ilk, they have no solace.
“Indeed, Allah will prevail in His affair, but most people do not know” [Quran 12:21].
