On Friday, the Al-Qassam Brigades released a segment of their operations against the occupation forces in the city of Beit Hanoun, located in the northeasternmost part of the Gaza Strip.
The first part of the footage, titled “Death Traps”, showcases explosions targeting occupation vehicles, as well as attacks on military sites and soldier positions in Beit Hanoun during the invasion, which occurred prior to the ceasefire about a week ago.
The occupation army acknowledged that Hamas’ capabilities in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza, were not significantly impaired. This area alone witnessed the killing of 16 Israeli soldiers over a span of days.
According to the newspaper Israel Hayom, the town of Beit Hanoun claimed the lives of five Israeli soldiers, adding to the death toll of ten other soldiers who had already been killed in the same area within just one week.
The newspaper further noted, “The number of soldiers killed in the current operation launched by the Israeli army in northern Gaza since early October has reached an unbelievable figure—55 soldiers, 16 of whom died in Beit Hanoun.”
Earlier this month, the occupation army announced in a statement that five military personnel, including a lieutenant in the elite “Nahal Brigade” and a captain, were killed, while eight others sustained serious injuries due to an explosion in Beit Hanoun.
The newspaper also quoted a retired major, one of the commanders of the 252nd Division that entered Beit Hanoun during the initial ground invasion in October 2023, saying, “We destroyed the town and its center back then, but we suffered casualties, with one soldier killed.”
He continued, “The number of Israeli soldiers killed in Beit Hanoun now is simply unimaginable.”
Commenting on the situation, the newspaper stated that the occupation army now admits that Hamas’ local command structure remains largely intact. Consequently, local leaders in the movement are still capable of issuing operational orders.
It further highlighted that Hamas is waging guerrilla warfare through small groups of fighters who often maneuver behind Israeli forces to inflict losses. Unfortunately for the occupation forces, these tactics have frequently succeeded.
