Hebrew media sources have revealed details of a conspiracy between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel aimed at suppressing Palestinian resistance in Gaza post-war by imposing administrative arrangements on the region, contingent on the continuation of the ceasefire and the end of Israel’s military aggression.
According to information published by Israel Hayom, Abu Dhabi has initially agreed to take responsibility for managing Gaza after the war, intending to reconstruct the region in a way that neutralizes any potential threat to Israel.
The report indicates that the UAE is “prepared to eradicate jihadist opposition and prevent the use of Islam for violence in Gaza,” effectively positioning Abu Dhabi as a collaborator in Israel’s efforts to dismantle Palestinian resistance in the besieged enclave.
Additionally, i24NEWS, an Israeli news channel, disclosed what it claims to be the key points of the proposed plan for governing Gaza in the aftermath of the war, as shaped through discussions between Israel and the UAE. The plan includes:
-
- Establishing a transitional council for Gaza by decree from the Palestinian Authority (PA) president.
-
- Limiting the number of council members to no more than twenty.
-
- Granting the council full responsibility for governing Gaza and overseeing reconstruction plans.
-
- Assigning the council the task of preparing for presidential and legislative elections.
-
- Holding elections in Gaza and PA-controlled areas within 24 to 36 months.
-
- Allowing the council to invite and collaborate with an interim Arab security force.
-
- Cooperating with neighboring countries and foreign partners.
-
- Ensuring that representatives from PA-controlled territories participate in the council as part of a broader governance plan.
-
- Forming a joint legislative and governance body between the council and the Ramallah-based PA government for Gaza’s reconstruction.
-
- Establishing a professional Palestinian security force under the council’s supervision.
-
- Organizing an international donor conference to fund Gaza’s reconstruction.
-
- Guaranteeing the free movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza.
According to i24NEWS, Israel and the United States are holding secret talks with the UAE to integrate it into Gaza’s post-war governance under the so-called “next-day plan.” The objective is to establish an interim government for the Strip, paving the way for a “reformed” Palestinian Authority to eventually take control, replacing the transitional council.
Among other proposals, one suggestion was for the UAE and the U.S. to temporarily oversee Gaza’s administration, security, and reconstruction following the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
Amid these developments, Israeli politician Aryeh Deri, leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party and a close ally of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the UAE at the invitation of Mohammed bin Zayed. The visit was aimed at discussing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
According to Israel’s public broadcaster, this marks the first public visit of a Shas party leader to the UAE. The meeting reportedly focused on the next stages of the ceasefire agreement and efforts to strengthen cooperation between Israel and the UAE under the Abraham Accords and their ongoing political alliance.
Shas, a far-right party representing religious Mizrahi Jews in Israel, holds a significant role in Netanyahu’s hardline government, reinforcing the ideological and strategic implications of the UAE-Israel coordination over Gaza’s post-war governance.
