The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an opposition group to the Iranian regime, has claimed that Tehran is secretly developing nuclear warheads for missiles capable of striking Europe.
According to the opposition website Iran International, the NCRI stated in a press conference in Washington that the Iranian regime is producing nuclear warheads for solid-fuel missiles with a range exceeding 3,000 kilometers at the Shahroud missile site in northeastern Iran.
The opposition movement claims that this information was obtained from a network of sources inside Iran.
Additionally, the Iranian opposition revealed that another missile facility near Semnan is working on the production of liquid-fuel missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
According to the NCRI, the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND) is particularly focused on developing nuclear warheads for solid-fuel missiles of the “Qaem-100” type, which are stationed at the Shahroud site and equipped with mobile launch platforms.
Iran’s Threats and Regional Tensions
In a related development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned in an interview with Al Jazeera on Friday that Iran would respond immediately and decisively to any attack on its nuclear sites, warning that such an act would lead to “a full-scale war in the region.”
Araghchi, speaking through a translator, stated that a military strike by Israel or the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities would be one of the biggest historical mistakes if Washington were to proceed with such an action.
Escalating Concerns Over a Possible Strike
Concerns have been mounting among high-ranking officials in Tehran that former U.S. President Donald Trump, during a potential second term, could allow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to carry out strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites while intensifying American sanctions on Iran’s oil sector.
These fears, combined with growing internal discontent in Iran due to economic hardships, could push Tehran toward negotiations with the Trump administration over the fate of its rapidly advancing nuclear program.
Araghchi suggested that Washington could release frozen Iranian funds as a first step toward building trust between the two rival nations.
