Turkish citizens call the city of Istanbul the “City of the Companions,” due to the presence of the graves of many of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
“Arabi 21” agency, accompanied by the Turkish sociologist and historian, “Mofid Yuksel”, toured among the most prominent graves of the Companions, many of whom were martyred on the walls of Constantinople against the Byzantines.
Attempts to conquer the city, which began during the era of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, by sending two campaigns, the first of which was led by Fadala bin Ubaid Al-Ansari, and then he sent after that to make his son Yazid his leader in the year 49 AH / 66 AD, and the other in the year 54 AH = 673 AD, but they did not You can unlock the city.
A number of senior companions participated in the army, such as: Abdullah bin Abbas, Abdullah bin Omar, Abdullah Al-Zubayr and Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari, and they clashed with the Byzantines and a large number of them were martyred during that.
The correspondent of the “Arabi 21” agency is on a tour to learn about the graves of those who were martyred during this siege of the Companions, led by the great companion Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who sheltered the Prophet in his home when he migrated to Medina, and was buried near the walls of Constantinople.
“Arabi 21”, accompanied by Yuksel, toured the tomb of the companion Shu’bah, may God be pleased with him, whose location is indicated on the map, and the coordinates of the place are attached.

And “Arabi 21” moved from a door called “Agri Kabi” adjacent to the walls, the tomb of the companion Hafer, may God be pleased with him, and it seems, as the Turkish historian indicated, that this is a nickname known to him in the army and next to him in the same place and about fifteen meters away from him is a door to the grave of a companion written on it in the Latin letter in the Turkish language Hazrat Abdul Sadiq.
And the tombstone was written on it in Arabic: “This honorable shrine is one of the honorable companions, Abd al-Sadiq Amer ibn Ubadah ibn Shami, may God be pleased with him, and may God benefit us with his intercession 49 AH.”
