The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas resistance movement, presented a gold piece to one of the three Israeli prisoners released as part of the recent prisoner exchange deal with the Israeli occupation.
According to Al Jazeera, a source within Al-Qassam stated that the movement’s fighters gifted the Israeli-American prisoner, Sagi Dekel Han, a gold piece as a present for his newborn daughter, who was born four months after his capture.
A Gesture Amidst the Exchange
Sagi Dekel Han was among three Israeli prisoners handed over on Saturday to the International Committee of the Red Cross, as part of the sixth batch of prisoner exchanges between the Gaza resistance and the Israeli occupation.
The released prisoners included:
They were handed over in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, while 369 Palestinian detainees were scheduled for release by the occupation forces later in the day.
A Symbolic and Historic Moment
Dozens of Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades fighters, alongside a large crowd of resistance supporters, gathered near the home of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Khan Yunis refugee camp to witness the event.
Some resistance fighters were seen carrying Israeli weapons seized during the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7.
Two of the released prisoners arrived in a black military vehicle belonging to the Israeli army, which Al-Qassam had captured during the same operation, while Al-Quds Brigades transported the third prisoner in a white vehicle.
Formal Exchange Protocol
The exchange followed a structured handover process:
-
- A commander from Al-Quds Brigades officially transferred Turpanov.
-
- A commander from Al-Qassam Brigades handed over the other two prisoners.
-
- A representative from the International Red Cross signed the official transfer documents on a specially erected platform.
-
- The three Israeli prisoners then stepped onto the stage, where they were officially handed over to the Red Cross.
Messages from the Released Prisoners
During the event, the three released Israeli prisoners spoke on stage, urging efforts to secure the release of the remaining Israeli captives in Gaza.
They collectively emphasized that “time is running out” for their fellow prisoners still held by the resistance.
This latest exchange underscores the strategic and humanitarian dimensions of the ongoing prisoner swap negotiations, as well as the unwavering commitment of the Palestinian resistance to securing the release of Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons.
