Israeli companies have announced their participation in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) in the United Arab Emirates, an event running until February 21 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.
The CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Boaz Levy, expressed enthusiasm about their presence at the event, stating, “We are very happy to be here.”
IAI ranks among the top 100 arms manufacturers globally in 2023, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
Levy acknowledged that some of the company’s products are actively deployed in Gaza, stating, “Of course, some of our products are in Gaza, but we are a technology company that provides the end user with the capabilities needed on the ground.”
Israeli Military Technology Showcased
During the exhibition, Israeli company RT LTA Systems unveiled a new cellular communication system integrated into its SkyStar 330 tactical aerostat platform.
This surveillance balloon carries communication equipment to an altitude of 500 metres, and can be deployed and operational within just one hour upon reaching its location. The system relies on a tethered fibre-optic cable for stable power supply and continuous data transmission.
The 17th edition of IDEX is organised by the ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Defence. According to the event organisers, the exhibition attracts major global defence companies, decision-makers, and military experts to showcase the latest advancements in defence technologies aimed at maintaining international security and stability.
Israeli Drone Company Unveils New UAV
Meanwhile, Heven Drones, an Israeli company specialising in hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial systems (UAS), announced the launch of its new drone, Raider, at the exhibition.
The Raider UAV boasts an extended endurance of over 10 hours using hydrogen propulsion and can carry a payload of up to 23 kilograms.
Benjamin Levinston, the founder and director of Heven Drones, emphasised that the Raider’s launch reflects the company’s vision of enhancing operational capabilities for missions such as reconnaissance, tactical operations, and logistical support.
Acknowledging the regional security context, Levinston stated, “What we have heard from our counterparts in the UAE and other countries is that the most important issue is security… Israel, the United States, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the entire region share the goal of defeating terrorism, and to achieve that, we must have the best technology.”
Growing Participation in IDEX 2025
The expanding presence of Israeli arms companies at IDEX 2025 underscores the growing normalisation of security cooperation between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi, as part of broader regional military and economic alliances.
