The Public Investment Fund, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has announced an investment in a company that funds the Israeli war on Gaza and the ongoing genocide against Palestinians.
It was revealed that the Public Investment Fund and Goldman Sachs Asset Management signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which the fund will act as a key strategic investor in new investment strategies, including private credit and public equity across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The non-binding MoU is subject to meeting certain necessary conditions and achieving a set of defined objectives.
Goldman Sachs has been expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia in recent years, having recently opened a new office in Riyadh.
It is important to note that Goldman Sachs is one of the companies that has funded the Israeli war on Gaza.
The goal of this investment with Goldman Sachs is to attract capital from global investors, with a large portion of the funds allocated for investment in Saudi Arabia.
Since the beginning of the Gaza war, Mohammed bin Salman’s betrayal of Gaza has been evident. His failure to support Gaza’s resistance and his lack of serious efforts to pressure internationally for aid to reach the Palestinian people has been clear.
Moreover, the actions of bin Salman’s regime indicate a clear bias toward the Israeli occupation. This includes leaked support for eliminating the Palestinian resistance, as well as the disgraceful land route used to break the maritime blockade imposed by the Houthi movement on Israel.
While many expected Saudi Arabia to take a firm stance in support of Palestine, as it had in past wars with Israel decades ago, or at least threaten to use oil as leverage to pressure Israel’s allies, bin Salman did the opposite and used the kingdom’s oil to serve the occupation.
Foreign news agencies had previously reported that Saudi Arabia secretly provided oil to Israel after October 7.
The Guardian newspaper and the website of Oil Change International confirmed that Saudi oil has been consistently reaching Israel via the “SUMED” pipeline to Egypt, with shipments exceeding 151 shipments to date.
Oil Change International also confirmed that Saudi Arabia, along with the UAE and Egypt, are the only Arab countries supplying oil to Israel during the ongoing bombing of Gaza. This oil is being used as fuel for the planes and tanks that have been directly bombing Gaza for months.
According to observers, this means that the rulers of these countries are actively participating in war crimes.
