As the Israeli lobby in the United States continues to exert influence on President Donald Trump’s administration to issue more pro-occupation decisions, an organization representing millions of American Christians has appealed to him to recognize the “Jewish people’s right to the West Bank as a prelude to its annexation.”
In his article for Maariv, writer Meir Oziel stated: “While the world continues to broadcast its hatred toward Israel, with no ability to stop the protests that have flooded Western streets, the rise of boycott campaigns from powerful international bodies, and antisemitism reaching unprecedented levels, there are still those who support Israel and continue to exert their influence over the White House. This is done through the efforts of hundreds of American Christian leaders who addressed President Trump two weeks ago, urging him to recognize the Jewish people’s right to the West Bank.”
Oziel added, in an article translated by Arabi21, that “David Parsons, vice president of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, emphasized that it is time for a new approach in which we, as Christians, join the Jewish people in encouraging them to reclaim their sovereignty and rights in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). Some may argue that this means calling for Israel’s annexation of the West Bank, but that’s incorrect. Legally, you cannot annex something that is already yours.”
He pointed out that “this compelling appeal to President Trump was made by the American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI), an organization that includes dozens of Christian groups supporting Israel. The letter was drafted by Dr. Suzanne Michael, the organization’s director and head of the U.S. branch of the International Christian Embassy.”
The letter stated that “The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) conference, held in Dallas, Texas on February 25, 2025, affirmed the Jewish people’s right to the biblical lands of Israel, namely Judea and Samaria.”
It was revealed that “This organization, which includes three thousand pastors and Christian leaders from across the United States, came together to sign this important document, claiming to represent millions of American Christians who support Israel and its control over the West Bank. We understand that Trump is preparing to make a major statement regarding it soon.”
The writer observed that “This statement marks the peak of American Christian support for Israel, but at the same time, it alarms many Israelis who view the issue of annexing the West Bank as beyond their capabilities, as it could lead to extremely difficult security and political developments.”
