Dear Muslim, just as there are markets in this world where people buy their needs, there is also a market in Jannah. However, this market is unlike any earthly market—it is a place where the people of Paradise become even more beautiful and radiant in a way beyond description.
A Market That Enhances Beauty
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah raise his rank) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Indeed, there is a market in Jannah to which the people of Paradise go every Friday. A northern wind will blow, scattering fragrance upon their faces and clothes, increasing them in beauty and radiance. When they return to their families, they will have become even more beautiful and handsome. Their families will say to them, ‘By Allah, you have increased in beauty and radiance since you left us!’ And they will reply, ‘And you too, by Allah, have increased in beauty and radiance since we left you!’” (Sahih Muslim)
And why wouldn’t this be the case, when Allah Almighty says:
“But those who fear their Lord will have lofty rooms, built one above another, under which rivers flow. (This is) the promise of Allah, and Allah does not fail in His promise.” (Az-Zumar: 20)
The Food of Jannah
In earthly markets, we find different kinds of food. Similarly, in the market of Jannah, there will be food, but it will be entirely different in taste, form, and pleasure.
Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah raise his rank) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked:
“Will the people of Jannah eat?”
He replied: “Yes, they will eat and drink, but they will not urinate, defecate, spit, or blow their noses. Their digestion will be through belching and a fragrant perspiration like the scent of musk. They will be inspired to glorify and praise Allah just as they are inspired to breathe.” (Sahih Muslim)
The Clothing of the People of Jannah
In this world, people go to markets in ordinary attire, sometimes even in the simplest of clothing. However, in the market of Jannah, its visitors will be adorned in the finest garments.
Mu’adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
“The people of Jannah will enter it with no body hair, no beards, and with kohl-lined eyes. They will be in the prime of youth, aged thirty or thirty-three.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhi)
The market of Jannah is unlike anything we can imagine—it is a place where people will gather not just to enjoy its offerings, but to be blessed with even more beauty, joy, and contentment. May Allah grant us all the honor of witnessing this divine marketplace in the eternal gardens of Paradise, Ameen.
