Israeli media reported on Monday, June 1, 2021, that the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation invited the UAE ambassador in Tel Aviv, Muhammad Al Khaja, to participate in the extremist settlers’ storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque after he met with Chief Rabbi Shalom Cohen.
This call comes after a meeting that prompted a lot of controversy for the Emirati ambassador with the head of the so-called “Council of Torah Sages,” Chief Rabbi Shalom Cohen and Israeli media published special photos from the meeting showing the Emirati ambassador bent on his knees, inside the rabbi’s house in occupied Jerusalem, while placing his hand on his head, and recites some words to him that is what they called “blessings he offers to the Emirati ambassador.”
The Emirati ambassador in Israel, Muhammad Al Khaja, also accused, in front of the Israeli rabbi, what he described as “some television channels such as Al-Jazeera” of “misleading” regarding the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and the successive Israeli attacks on Palestinians in diligent Jerusalem, especially in the neighborhood Sheikh Jarrah.
This statement was issued by him, against the background of the eruption of the situation in the Palestinian territories, since the 13th of last April, as a result of “brutal” attacks perpetrated by the Israeli police and its settlers in Jerusalem, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood (center), in an attempt to evacuate and hand over 12 Palestinian homes for settlers.
According to what was reported by the Israeli “Kan” channel, the ambassador and Al-Hajam also discussed the situation of Jews residing in the Gulf countries, and the Emirati ambassador’s impression of Israel.
Al Khaja also invited Cohen to pay an official visit to the UAE
It is noteworthy that on January 24, the UAE government announced its ratification of the opening of an Emirati embassy in Israel. The ratification was also followed by the announcement of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs to open an embassy for its country in Abu Dhabi with the arrival of businessman, Eitan Naeh, to the UAE capital.
It is worth noting that the UAE signed, in mid-September, a normalization agreement with Israel under US auspices, under qm palestinian criticism and reservations.
