U.S. authorities have arrested a pro-Israel rabbi in Dallas, Texas, on charges of sexually abusing a minor, raising serious questions about the credibility of figures leading anti-Palestinian smear campaigns.
According to Anadolu Agency, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Sabo, 43, was arrested by Dallas police for sexually assaulting a young child at a Jewish school where he worked.
Authorities set his bail at $100,000, and the private Jewish school where he served as the Director of “Jewish Life” has since terminated all ties with him.
From Tank Commander to Synagogue Leader
Media reports confirm that Sabo was born in Israel, is the father of five, and is a former IDF tank unit soldier. Since 2022, he has led a congregation at Tiferet Israel Synagogue in North Dallas.
Following the events of October 7, 2023, Sabo became notoriously vocal in Dallas-area pro-Israel rallies, where he accused Hamas of committing mass sexual violence against Israeli women and children in Gaza.
However, independent international organisations have consistently refuted these allegations, finding no credible evidence to support such claims, which are often used to demonise Palestinian resistance and justify Israeli war crimes.
Allegations of Hypocrisy and Misinformation
The arrest has sparked outrage and condemnation, particularly in light of Sabo’s public role in spreading unverified accusations against Palestinians, while facing credible child abuse charges himself.
This case underscores the dangers of weaponising unsubstantiated claims in wartime propaganda — especially when such claims are used to deflect attention from the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel — with full U.S. backing — has carried out a campaign of genocide in Gaza, resulting in:
-
- Over 165,000 Palestinians killed or injured,
-
- A majority of victims being women and children,
-
- More than 11,000 missing, presumed buried under rubble.
Double Standards in Justice and Media Silence
While Israel’s crimes continue with impunity, cases like Sabo’s expose the hypocrisy within certain pro-Israel narratives — particularly when figures who loudly accuse others are themselves embroiled in child exploitation charges.
So far, there has been little mainstream media coverage of Sabo’s arrest, prompting criticism of media double standards when crimes involve pro-Israel religious figures.
