The Al-Qassam Brigades announced that their fighters inflicted casualties on Israeli occupation forces through a series of ambushes set up in Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, where Israeli troops have suffered losses over recent days.
In a military statement, Al-Qassam confirmed that their fighters targeted an Israeli Merkava 4 tank with a Yassin anti-tank shell east of Al-Tuffah.
Additionally, Al-Qassam fighters detonated an anti-personnel explosive device among a group of occupation soldiers, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries in the same area.
Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades reported that they launched a guided missile strike on a military outpost inside a house where several Israeli soldiers were stationed, also east of Al-Tuffah.
Al-Qassam further revealed that their fighters successfully targeted a special Israeli unit that had fortified itself inside a house in the Al-Shuja’iyya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City. The fighters struck with several RPG and Yassin 105 shells and engaged the unit with automatic gunfire, causing additional fatalities and injuries among the enemy ranks.
Israeli sources confirmed that an officer with the rank of captain from the armoured corps, along with a soldier from the elite Yamas unit (specialising in undercover operations), were killed during the battles in Al-Shuja’iyya.
While Israeli reports claimed they had set an ambush for resistance fighters in Al-Shuja’iyya, the occupation forces themselves fell into a well-prepared resistance ambush. During the incident, resistance fighters struck an Israeli military “Hummer” vehicle that had rushed to rescue the targeted force, killing one of its soldiers.
Hebrew media accounts revealed that a senior officer from the so-called “Jerusalem Brigade” of the Israeli army sustained serious injuries during the clashes in Al-Shuja’iyya. Some reports suggested that the wounded individual was the brigade commander himself, although the Israeli military has neither confirmed nor denied these reports.
