Praise be to Allah and may Allah increase the honor and raise the rank of our Master Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
Thereafter dear Muslims, know may Allah have mercy upon you that Paradise is the abode of peace, enjoyment, and happiness. Allah prepared it for the Muslims. It contains rivers of pure honey, milk, and non-intoxicating wine, different from the wine of this world, and other everlasting enjoyments.
The enjoyment in Paradise is by both body and soul. Paradise has different levels, some of which are higher than the others. The highest level is the level of the prophets. The occupants of Paradise will not grieve, grow old, or die. They will be forever in Paradise, will never leave it, and will enjoy its everlasting bliss.
The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:
It means: “Are there any who want to strive hard to receive the endowments of Paradise? Paradise has no equal. I swear by the Lord of the Ka^bah, it contains shining lights, pleasing fragrant plants, big castles, flowing rivers, ripe fruits, beautiful wives and many special clothes. [The residents of Paradise] will have beautiful faces. They will be immersed in endless bliss, living in high, sound, beautiful houses.” (Related by Ibn Hibban.)
Those who were Muslims, believed correctly in Allah, and believed in the Messenger who was sent to them and died on that status shall dwell forever in Paradise, which Allah has created for them. The enjoyments of Paradise are felt with the body and soul, the drink there is a real one and the life of its occupants is a real life.
The Muslims there will be as tall as Prophet Adam (60 cubits), all Muslims there will be at the age of thirty three. The men will be without beards and they will have the beauty of Prophet Yusuf peace be upon him.
The believer there would see his believer relatives whenever he willed to see them, and if he had relatives who had died as blasphemers; he will not long for them or miss them because he will be pre-occupied with the pleasures and enjoyments of Paradise. People will be married and have interaction with one another, there will be no single there; even the infant who had died on the day he was born will enter Paradise and marry there. The female would be married in Paradise to whomever Allah has willed for her to marry. Those in Paradise will have ranks according to their piety. Those who will be rewarded with Paradise will never be sent out of it.
In Paradise there are built palaces, because the least Muslim in Paradise will be living the life of the kings in this world. The least Muslim in Paradise will get ten times of this world, and this is a great enjoyment. Because if the person will have a little spot in Paradise, it will be better than this world and what is in it, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam said:
“مقدارُ سوط أحدكم من الجنة خيرٌ من الدنيا وما فيها“
It means: “The distance which the whip occupies in Paradise is better than this world and what is in it.”
If we spread this whip on the floor how much of a distance it would take? One meter or less, this distance in Paradise is better than this world and what is in it. Nevertheless, it was mentioned that the pious one would have the distance of two-thousand years of the ground of Paradise, his sight will be empowered to see the farthest distance of it as the shortest one.
In Paradise there will not be what the self hates; there is no menstrual bleeding, no urine, no feces, or sweat that produces dirt; the sweat of the dwellers of Paradise will be like the musk.
In Paradise there will not be what would disturb the enjoyment, there will not be any hardship.
The wives of the human will be everlastingly his. There is also the Hur ul-^In, they are females whom Allah created, they are not humans or jinn and they will be married to those men whom Allah had willed for them to marry. If one of them would appear in this world, she would fill what is between the east and the west with nice fragrance.
Allah said in Surat ad-Dukhan, Verse 54:
(كَذَلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ)
The Prophet saw them in Paradise during Mi^raj, they have large eyes with very white sclera and very black pupils.
Angel Jibril asked the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam to say salam to them. They said to him: “We are beautiful females with good manners, and the wives of honorable people.”
As soon as the people of Paradise enter it and dwell in it, they will hear the call from an angel sounding: “O people of Paradise you shall be alive, so you shall never die, and you shall be in a good health, so you shall never get sick, you shall be at the youth age, so you shall never get old, you shall be living in enjoyments, so you shall never receive any misery.”
The people of Paradise will live in uninterrupted enjoyments which will be always renewed, so for every fruit which the believer cuts in Paradise another fruit would grow in its place, the fruit there looks like the jar; the trees in Paradise have trunks of gold.
When the trees of Paradise move they would make a beautiful sound which moves the selves, it is nicer than the sound of music.
Allah ta^ala has mentioned the description of the enjoyment of the people of Paradise in His saying:
(فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَة)
It means that there will be water-springs flowing in which the people of Paradise drink water from them out of pleasure rather than out of being thirsty. Because there is no hunger or thirst in Paradise, people there drink out of pleasure. This is the same as when we drink juice in this world not out of thirst, and we might eat fruits after having food not out of hunger, but rather out of pleasure; the same thing applies to the food of the occupants of Paradise.
Allah also said in the Qur’an:
(فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَة)
Means that the occupants of Paradise will have beds which are up high in the air crowned with aquamarine, pearls, and rubies; its plates are made of gold. They will be up high and when its people come they will be lowered for them out of humbleness so that they will sit on them, then it will ascend with them on it. Allah ta^ala has made this bed as a mean of transportation in Paradise.
If the person was to long for seeing someone in Paradise, this bed would transport him, it would fly with him on it by the Will of Allah until it arrives at the location of the other person’s bed. They would sit across from each other; they would talk and his bed would take him to wherever he was and this the meaning of Allah’s saying:
(عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِين)
There is also another mean for transportation in Paradise, Allah ta^ala has made in Paradise horses made of rubies with wings made of gold at the service of the people of Paradise, they would transport the person to wherever he wants within a blink of an eye; they would not find difficulty in riding them.
On the edges of the water-springs there will be drinking cups, they are rounded ones with no handles.
Are the cushions which are lined beside each other.
Are the wide splendid carpets which are spread in the sitting places where people sit.
There are also rooms in Paradise, the outer part of them would be seen from the inside part, and the inside part of them would be seen from the outer part.
If the believer sees a bird and wishes to eat it, it would fell barbecued between his hands without any effort.
So, he who believed in Allah correctly, avoided disobeying Him, and performed what He has made obligatory on him shall enter Paradise without prior torture, where the everlasting enjoyments are. This is supported in the Qudsiyy Hadith which was related by Abu Hurayrah, he said: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam said: Allah said:
(أَعدَدْتُ لعبادِيَ الصالِحينَ مَا لا عينٌ رَأَتْ ولا أُذنٌ سَمِعَتْ ولا خطرَ على قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ)
It means: “I have prepared for My righteous slaves what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard of, and no human has ever thought of.”
Abu Hurayrah said: Read if you wish:
(فَلاَ تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أُخْفِيَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَآءَ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ)
Verse 17 of Surat as-Sajdah means that the eye will be delighted with the enjoyments which are prepared in Paradise for the righteous people, Allah has not revealed such enjoyments to any angel or a prophet. This verse interprets the Qudsiyy Hadith we have just mentioned, and that is what Abu Hurayrah meant.
The Prophet saw during the Mi^raj the Hur ul-^In as we have mentioned, he also saw the wildan ul-mukhalladun. They are creations of Allah who are not human, jinn, or angels. They are a very beautiful creation of Allah whose appearance is like laid-out pearls. Allah said in Surat al-Insan, Verse 19:
(وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا)
They are servants of the inhabitants of Paradise. The least in status of the People of Paradise will have 10,000 wildan ul-mukhalladun to serve him. Each one of them would carry a tray of gold in one hand and a tray of silver in the other hand.
Paradise has doors, among them is ar-Rayyan, those who used to fast in this world will enter through it. The first human to enter Paradise is our Master Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, it was mentioned that the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam would come to the door of Paradise, on the door there will be a ring, the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam would hold it; the angel in charge of Paradise would say: Who? He would say: Muhammad, the angel would say: I was ordered not to open the door for anyone before you.
Allah ta^ala prohibited the prophets from entering Paradise before Muhammad, and He prohibited the nations of the prophets from entering Paradise before the nation of Muhammad, so his nation is the first nation to enter Paradise.
Paradise is located above the seventh sky and underneath the ^Arsh (The Throne). It was narrated that the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam has urged the believers to seek al-Firdaws (Elysium) which is located in the middle and top part of Paradise, its ceiling is the ^Arsh; so the ^Arsh is the ceiling of Paradise and Paradise is underneath it.
Let it be known that the greatest enjoyment which the occupants of Paradise will experience is seeing Allah ta^ala with the eye in the Hereafter, without Allah having a form or being in a place or a direction, different from the way the creation is seen. The creature is seen in a place, in a direction, will have a form, an image; however, Allah is not like that; nothing resembles Him in anyway. Allah said in the Qur’an:
(وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةُ، إلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ)
This is a proof that seeing Allah with the eye happens with the eye, Allah empowers the eyes of the believers in Paradise to see Him, they will see Him with the everlasting eye which will not vanish.
The occupants of Paradise will differ in seeing Allah, some of them will see Him once a week, some of them will see Him twice a day, this is because the enjoyment of the people of Paradise differs; everybody will get the enjoyment according to his rank and status which will be according to the deeds he did in this world.
Even their places in Paradise would differ, there are the sides of Paradise, the middle and the top part which is al-Firdwas (Elysium).
Dear Muslims think and ponder about the status of the occupants of Paradise, and about the everlasting enjoyments that Allah has specified them with. The flourishing of its enjoyments is seen on the faces of its people, those who would see them will know that they are having the enjoyments. They will drink from the non-intoxicating wine, which is sealed with musk. They will sit on platforms of red rubies, they will also have tents made of white pearls, leaning on sofas. They shall have the beautiful Hur ul-^In who have good manners as if they are coral rubies, so is there any one who wants to strive hard to receive the enjoyments of Paradise?
Dear Muslims, aren’t we supposed to work and to supply our selves for the hereafter. Aren’t we supposed also to compete for doing the obediences and the good things.
It is so amazing that there are some people who compete for this vanished life and do not prepare for the Hisab (Payment for the deeds) in the everlasting life.
So be keen dear Muslims on preserving your belief, be steadfast to it, protect your tongue from committing blasphemy so that you will die as a believer and to be among the dwellers of Paradise. Be fast and quick to perform what Allah has made obligatory on you like: The five Prayers, Fasting, Zakah, learning the personal obligatory knowledge of the Religion, treating the parents kindly, connecting with the kins, and other than that so that you will be among the first ones to enter Paradise.
Allah has ordered Paradise to speak after He created it with the enjoyment it has, He empowered it to speak, it said: The believers have won.
O Allah we ask You to make us die believing in You and in Your Messenger sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, and we ask You too to make us among the people of Paradise out of Your Grace, O Allah You are the Most Merciful.
