Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) is planning to open a branch in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, despite the ongoing Israeli occupation’s assault on Gaza, which has continued for nine consecutive months, resulting in tens of thousands of Palestinian casualties, both dead and injured.
According to Bloomberg, on Monday, August 12, 2024, IAI is moving forward with its plan to establish a presence in Abu Dhabi. Shmuel Kuzi, the company’s Executive Vice President, stated that IAI’s aviation arm, which provides aircraft maintenance and repair services, is scheduled to begin operations in the UAE.
The Israeli official highlighted that the Abu Dhabi branch will focus on the reconfiguration of 10 Boeing 777 aircraft from the Emirates fleet, converting them into cargo planes.
Israeli media had previously revealed the operation of a land bridge between the ports of Dubai and Haifa, passing through Saudi and Jordanian territories, in an effort to circumvent threats from the Houthi group to close maritime passages.
According to the Israeli newspaper, Traconet, an Israeli company, signed the agreement. Its CEO, Hanan Birdman, explained that a ship sailing from the UAE to Haifa Port usually takes two weeks, but with the land transportation via trucks, it can reach Haifa in just four days.
Additionally, official Israeli data, reviewed by Arabi Post, revealed a list of food products from UAE and Saudi companies that have been imported by Israeli importers. These products are part of a global list of companies exporting to Israel.
The official list, published on the Israeli government’s website and issued by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, is the authorized body for granting the mandatory “Kosher” certification required to market and sell products in the Israeli market. The “Kosher” certification attests that the food complies with Jewish dietary laws, and UAE products in Israel have obtained this certification.
According to the data in the list, products from UAE companies and other foreign companies operating in the UAE received Kosher certification during the war on Gaza (since October 7, 2023) or were exported before the war but are still valid.
The database shows that 11 companies in the UAE have had 99 of their products imported by Israeli companies, shamelessly prioritizing profit and collaboration with the occupier even as Israel commits genocide against the people of Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, with American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, resulting in over 132,000 Palestinian casualties, most of whom are children and women, with more than 10,000 missing amidst massive destruction and a deadly famine.
In defiance of the international community, Israel continues its war, ignoring the United Nations Security Council’s resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, as well as the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent genocide and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
